Tis almost the season...I recommend to any Cthulhu-type horror/thriller fans 'In The Mouth Of Madness', the best Lovecraft rip I've ever seen and John Carpenter's last good movie, IMPO. Also the intro to 'Beetlejuice', because Danny Elfman is in great form.

Any other suggestions?

I'm not a big fan of horror so something more family oriented like hocus pocus is always fun to watch this time of the year ^_^

Well my favorite kids Halloween movie is The Halloween Tree. I used to watch it over and over as a kid. Not a huge horror movie fan anyway.

I feel like I recommend the same movies every year but... XD

A Nightmare on Elm Street is my favourite. I usually watch The Addams Family movies and Beetlejuice around Halloween as well.

Let the Right One In is AMAZING. While we're at it, Scandinavian horror movies are really great. Specifically, I recommend Cold Prey (Fritt Vilt), Dead Snow (Død snø), and Villmark.

For someone who likes fun splatters, I'd recommend Braindead, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, and Shaun of the Dead.

Orphan, A Tale of Two Sisters, and Ginger Snaps are also good movies.

And if you want to watch something dark but not necessarily horror: Dark Shadows, Warm Bodies, Stoker.

I like the first Addams Family but after that not so much. Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston are perfect for the parts.

I actually prefer the American version, 'Let Me In', but to each their own.

I agree with your "fun splatters" ('Braindead' aka 'Dead Alive'), and would add '100 Bloody Acres' as a new one in that genre, along with the classic 'Return of the Living Dead'.

And 'Cabin In The Woods' is great satire.
