So we've had 3 events back-to-back so far and another one is coming up without any breaks. I was thinking that Keelhauliday could be moved to another time in the year. Talk Like a Pirate Day isn't such a big deal that it absolutely has to have a pirate-themed event starting on that date. If it was moved to some other time of the year, Alegarten could be earlier so that it actually coincides with Oktoberfest. That way there would be a decent break between it and Morostide.

I really don't think spacing Keelhaul, Alwgarten and Motostide is really much of a help TBH.

Keelhaul - Try to restock or quest, that is literally it

Alegarten - Buy an item every 5 minutes (or don't I'm not the boss) and supply Gunther with more alcohol than he'll ever need.

Morostide- ToT, Pumpkin Patch, Egg and TP people, Human Zapper

The biggest problem (IMO) is after Morostide. Fireside-Luminaire-Ne w Years-Survival/Pandemic-Masquerade-Vesnali

meh. This whole thing from Sept to May is a headlong rush here on Subeta you get used to it and breathe a sigh of relief and goggle with disbelief when those who require more stimulation want summers to be more busy too. A lot of these holiday events you can substitute sP for-tot items usually drop in price quite a bit, floater items too. Do other things to earn your sP and then partake only what you want.

Normally the anniversary isn't such a big huge deal, it was especially big this year so there's some down time there. Me, I pretty much ignore Keelhauliday, or perhaps the opposite-I restock everywhere else while the competition is down.

I wouldn't mind a break. It's a busy time of the year... moving Keelhauliday to a quieter time of the year would be a great idea..

Don't we also have Morostide and Fireside coming up.. x_x

I don't think it's that big a deal. I have no problem with Alegarten following on from Keel Hauliday - It's pretty low key and doesn't involve much rushing around or stressing or interacting with other people. Plus, there will be a short break between this and Morostide (which usually only happens during the second half of October, so we'll have a week or so in between).

Even if we were to move Keel Hauliday (which itself isn't really a big deal), where would it go so that we wouldn't end up with a similar issue? The summer "break" is generally welcomed.

Also, what's the problem with having numerous events in close succession? I like events! They give me a little extra to do around here and I get shiny new things out of them. They're rarely as stressful as other people seem to make them out to be.

Imo the rush really comes from the site breaking so often during events, which leads to the staff extending the event -> we feel like there's no break at all.

I LIKE the busy event rush period. I LIKE knowing that from about September to April, there is going to be something different then the standard daily mundane Subeta tasks to do.

Also, Subeta is supposedly working on the lore aspect of the site. Some of us have been participating in these events for years, it doesn't seem logical to start changing when they occur to "space out" events when it's rather clear that they are all adaptations of real world holidays/events that always occur in certain specific months

To be honest, I could probably say the same thing about Alegarten, yes I know "Oktoberfest," but to be honest I'm not majorly into that in the world outside Subeta either. I have a friend that's super pumped about Alegarten and loves making the thread for it and while I'm not as hyped about it, I don't think it needs to be going anywhere either. I like all of the holidays and events that Subeta brings us.

No one is forcing anyone to participate in any and all events. You can easily skip them if you wish to.

Yeah okay, moving holidays that coincide with real life makes perfect sense. I'm busy in real life around christmas so let's move luminaire to the summertime too while we're at it. :P

The difficulty I have is the holiday-specific achievements. I'm a finisher, so I'm draining my money to buy items for achievements, and since I want to have collections complete as well, there's more money spent for all of the plushies/beanbags.

Lol people complain too much, why try and change something that has been ran this way for years? It's perfect the way it is...Wanting staff to switch up events would be like if staff were to come on one day and say "the user base is only allowed to complain/make suggestions on a certain day of this certain month" Pointless!

It's fine the way it is. It's no big deal, in my opinion, seeing as Keelhauliday and Alegarten aren't huge holidays like Morostide.

I also doing think we need to space anything out. I don't mind the busy time as long as the site is functioning, and I don't find it too be that overwhelming. No one is forcing you to take part in events you can't/don't want to. If it's too much to handle, take one off. You can always catch up next year.

Part of me enjoys that there are things to do from Sept > April

But every year I'm like, "Thank fuck it is finally summer" and the events all come to a halt for another few months. You don't have to participate in everything, but it is a bit overwhelming how much happens once september comes around.

This indeed as I'm fine with the way events are spaced now and if you don't like an event you don't have to participate in one.

I agree that events are too tight around September. The Anniversary, Keel Hauliday, Alegarten, Morostide, Fireside, Luminaire, all in four months... When from like April to August, there's like. Nothing. And summer's when we're all really aching for something do to, right?
