It can be a personal experience you've had, or something you've made up. The scarier, the better! 😈

This is a pretty awesome thread. : o (Love your HA btw!)

Let's see, scary stories.

I think the scariest experience was the time where I woke up in the morning and starting giving a damn.

But yeah, this is my way of saying I have nothing, I'll be stalking this board though. c:

Oh, wow. XD Yay for lurking! Also, thank you for the compliment on my HA! X3 <3

Something I remember is from a few years back. My boyfriend and two other friends of mine were sitting on my porch at night, talking and laughing. My room had a window that faced the deck, and every once in a while, we'd look towards the window, and notice the curtain fluttering. There was no fan in my room, and the window was shut... So there's no reason the curtains should have been moving.

Well, my boyfriend, trying to see if he could see something that would cause it, cupped his hands to the sides of his face and peered through. Next thing we knew, he yelled and lept back and off of the deck. We all panicked, and asked him what was up. He told us that, when he looked in, he saw a little, blue boy in the window, doing the same thing he was doing, right in his face. He said he's never been so scared in all his life.

Later on, we found out that, a while back, on the street where my house is, there was a little boy who was getting off the bus, and (this was before they had those little yellow arms on the front for the kids to walk around) the driver didn't see him and hit and killed him.

I'm getting goosebumps just talking about this. e.e

Pinging here, too~ :) He has mad story skillz.

I think the most disturbing thing that has happened to me was when I lived with my parents... we had moved into our first house. Late at night, I would see shadows, but because I was so tired, I thought it was my imagination. Brought a good friend of mine home with me one weekend and he brought a Ouiji board with him. We sat and started to play with it. The name Larry kept popping up. A few weeks later, a young man showed up at our house. He said that his dad used to live in our home, and had died there as well... in what used to be the garage. His name was Larry Cowell.

This unnerved me quite a bit, but at the time, I thought that my friend must have done some research on the home and found the name and played a trick on me.

A few years passed, with nothing too unusual happening, until one night, I woke up in my room. I was on my back and all I could see was this dark shadow (I could still see the ceiling, it was just dark in that spot)... I felt hands on my upper arms, squeezing. I couldn't breathe; I tried to scream, but no matter how hard I tried, nothing came out. My room was right next to my parents... but no one seemed to hear anything. My head ached and I felt dizzy, then there was a loud pop-- the light outside of our house went out. It was at that moment that I was able to spring up and run. I locked myself in the car that night, but wasn't able to get back to sleep. The next morning, my mother and I noticed some bruising on my arms, where I had felt the hands.

I stopped sleeping anywhere near that end of the house. It was bad enough that to this day, my parent's pets won't go to that part of the house.

how fun :) and thats creepy! Ive always found child ghosts to be the scariest dont know why and damn thats really scary! I wouldnt even live in that house after that O.o

(sorry if there are multiple pings I had to keep editing my post because of spelling errors >.<)

well, I dont know if you guys believe in ghosts or spirits but I shit you not when I tell this story.

I went to a technical school a year ago and was learning a construction trade, and it was an option to live in dorms and on the campus. Since it was in another state I lived on campus. Shortly after I got there my room mates were telling me a story about how our residence was haunted. (the campus used to be a naval base in the 60s, and I think back to the 20s but Im not sure) They said that one guy was in the basement hallway connecting the residences and to the male laundry room and he saw someone in uniform walk by him (the military visited campus A LOT to recruit people) and he burst into flames. No one believed the guy's story and said he was just wanting attention so he quit even though he was a month away from completing his trade. I thought it was probably not true until thought that it was a HUGE waste of time and money for someone to quit a month before completing his schooling. Something must have really wanted him to do so O.o I thought that it was just a story until one night on the weekend. I was walking down the eerie hallway (that they painted the several pipes above rainbow colors to give it less of a creepy feel, they called it "the rainbow hall") to meet my boyfriend in the laundry room. He said that we would be there after dinner so I didnt know if he was already going to be in there or not. I heard very faint footsteps behind me while walking down the hall but didnt pay much attention to them until I felt a light tap between my neck and shoulder. "Oh hey Justin" I said and turned around, but there was no one there. My blood turned to ice and my heart started racing as I broke out that cold sweat over my body. It was no doubt that I actually felt something touch me, for if I thought it was just a nerve twitch I wouldnt have said "Oh hi Justin". It literally felt like a hand on my neck. I ran down the hall as fast as I could and burst through the door to the laundry room. Some people believed my story but but I think personally my boyfriend didnt. He doesent really believe or think about the possibility of a paranormal lol.

it may not seem like a super scary story but it was REALLY scary for me haha as I said maybe it was just my imagination but who knows!

Hmmm, scary stories... I could tell about the guy who followed me home once.

I was walking to the bus stop from the McDonalds of death that used to work at and this guy left just after me and was walking the same way. I assumed he was walking to the bus stop too seeing as it was a main route and the only way there from the McDonalds was to go down this way.

Well I got to the stop and he was nowhere to be seen so I just guessed he'd crossed the road and gone to the station instead. I got my bus as usual.

When I got off at my stop, the guy was there. He approached me as I got off the bus, smiled all friendly and held out my notepad that I used to take to work to write things down in (stuff like things we didn't have, deli of the day etc.). He said that it had fallen from my bag when I'd left and he'd tried to catch me up but I'd been walking too quickly for him to do so.

I took it, kinda said thanks and looked away to get my backpack off so I could put it away. When I looked back, the guy was nowhere to be seen. This was on a wide road, no bushes or places to turn off, just the bus stop and the straight road in front of it, on the other side of the road were the houses. I would've seen him in the road if he'd crossed because I only looked away for a second to reach for my pack.

How this guy got there before me, how he knew where I got off and who he was, still have no clue. Never saw him again either.

This is a copy-paste from back in July 2013, regarding a dream I had. Take it as you will.

I had a dream last night. I was walking through some thick brush in a forest. I couldn't see ten feet ahead of me. I suddenly came to a clearing. There was a sharp, grassy slope and a path cut clear through the woods. At the bottom was a railroad, curving away from me at either direction. But the thing that I saw before all that was something like a pier, some kind of dock stretching into this little valley cut by the railroad tracks. There were four people waiting there. I met and talked with each of them. The first was a child. He was probably 7 years old, dressed as a newspaper boy from the 19th century. He told me he also wandered to this place and couldn't find his way back. I asked how he had gotten there and he told me that the last thing he remembers is being at home with his family just after dinner and falling asleep. The second individual was a young woman, wearing a purple velvet dress and white gloves, a small hat over her bouncy brown curls and a crochet parasol. Real Victorian-girl kinda stuff. She was standing right on the edge of the pier and I asked what she was there for. She told me she was very eager to get home and see her fiance. When I asked what happened, she said she was in a large crowd when something happened and they got separated. She believes she was knocked out and wound up here. When I asked her how she planned on returning, she pointed to the tracks and said that a train comes through the woods every five minutes, she just had to find the right one home. At this point I noticed two things: First, there was indeed a whistle blowing off in the distance. Second, the entire day had passed in about ten minutes. It was growing dark fast, but this didn't alarm me. I continued to the next person, a man in perhaps his late 40's. He looked battered and drunk and in shabby clothes. He was slumped on the ground, propped up against a bench. I asked him if he was okay, and he told me he never felt better. He said he had been homeless most of his life after his building caught fire and destroyed his family. He has been spending most of his money from begging on alcohol. I asked if he was happy, and he said that he wasn't as sad, and that was as close to happy as he will ever get from now on. I asked if he was going on the train, and he said that when the right train comes, he will have to get on. Once he finished that sentence, a tall, monstrous streamlined steamer rolled around the bend. Clouds of smoke and steam billowed out and it's whistle screamed sharply in my ears; I was the only one to flinch. It approached at speed and continued passed, not stopping, carrying a dozen or so cars behind it. It was gone as quickly as it was here. In the short time it passed, the sun had fallen, the moon had sped across the stars, and the sun rose again as the train sped towards it. The last person I talked to was a pale old man sitting on the bench. His eyes were closed and he seemed asleep. I patted his shoulder and asked if he was okay. He was wearing an expensive black suit with a vest, and in his pocket was a golden pen and a chain that dangled lower into his jacket. He woke and slowly turned to me with a smile. I asked him if he was okay, and what he was doing here. He said he worked for the train company and told people when they go. He has worked here as long as he could remember. At this point, he dug into his vest and pulled out a pocket watch. He studied it for quite some time and had a worried look on him. He turned to me and said that I didn't have a train scheduled. "What do you mean, I don't have a train? Can't anyone go on?" Once I said this, the homeless man stood up and grabbed my shirt, shaking me and telling me to go, that I should be gone. The woman was frantic and asked for us to trade places, and the boy was crying. I remember the old man standing and slowly walking to me, and I simply froze. I couldn't move, my eyes watered, and I was losing breath. I could feel my chest wanting more air but couldn't inhale. The old man pushed the others away with no effort and placed a glove on his right hand. He prodded my chest hard and I was forced back through the woods, the scene escaping me rapidly as I flew backwards at the speed of sound. I remember waking up actually out of breath. I still couldn't breathe; the bone necklace I wear all the time had tangled around my thumb and wrapped around my neck tightly. After a second of fighting with it, I unwound it and sucked in air, panting hard. What happened may have been a dream for all I know, and you all probably know I'm not one for afterlife stuff but... it was a sobering feeling. I never claim to know what's next after this life; maybe I'll just be gone, or maybe I'll have a train to catch.

It was quite creepy yeah... but I got my notebook back so I guess that's a good thing XD If anyone had read it they would've thought it was a mental persons jottings because I used to write personal "You can do it!" things in it to try and help me get through the days.

If my managers had gotten hold of it I probably would've been fired >.>

I hope scary/horror dreams from my messed-up head are alright, because mine get really vivid sometimes.

I recently had a dream that I was in a train, on my way somewhere. At first it was a normal, uneventful train ride, when out of nowhere, the guy on the other side of the aisle from me got cut in half.

A circular saw had popped out of his seat and his halves just flopped on either side of it after which it retreated back into the seat and the rip closed. Soon spikes began rising from the floor in random patterns and speeds and I suddenly felt the need to press against the glass as I heard the sound of a saw approaching me. I was in the nick of time as the saw popped down from the ceiling/luggage compartment above me! It felt like an eternity, but eventually it was gone and I uneasily returned to sitting properly.

That's when I heard two women conversing about the owner of the train and how he was on board. I was furious and decided to let him have a piece of my mind for putting us all in danger.

Maneuvering on and over the seats, only stepping on the floor when absolutely necessary, I managed to safely make it through several carts. I finally found him in the control room, but I was in for a surprise. He had absolutely no idea what was going on!

I grumpily made my way back to my seat and tried to relax. As I often do, I turned my head upwards and saw an eye staring at me through a hole in the luggage compartment. Instantly, a feeling of dread and urgency fell over me, I knew this thing was causing all of this and it had to die. For some reason I had a box cutter in my pocket and I lashed out at it with it, ripping the hole open and plunging it into the creature within. As I was doing so, I came to realize I was cutting up a monster from some other realm, and eldritch abomination if you will.

The thing wasn't just sitting idly there as I tore it apart though, it was utilizing every part of its body it could to try and restrain me, it was ripping my flesh off my bones with its hook-lined tendrils, it was biting into my face with its many tiny radulas, its eyes shooting maddening glances right through me and into my mind and it was releasing a foul-smelling liquid that made my head swim and I almost gave up in my nausea. Even in my dream though, I could feel this thing had to disappear, lest something absolutely horrible would happen, so I kept going and soon I could feel it weaken. With my bare hands, I tore out a part that seemed to be pulsating and in an instant it went limp.

I gazed underneath us and could see a pool of ooze, blood and severed body parts littering the train car outside the hole. I couldn't hold on anymore and fell. I could see everything was normal again as the dream began to fade and I woke up in my bed, no cosmic horrors, dead or alive, in sight.

Can't sleep, pendulums will get me.

Holy crap! That sounds amazingly terrifying. I wish my dreams were that vivid. XD

The only dream like that I remember having was one of those waking nightmares, where you can tell you're dreaming, and you want to wake up, but you just can't.

In this dream, I was being chased around our kitchen table by a big, black mass. I knew that, if it touched me, I was going to die, and it kept morphing into different things - a headless horse, a lion, a demon-looking thing - all with the same, pulsating blackness within it. I HATE waking nightmares. T.T

Take your time! Make it good and scary. :b

Ick, I hate waking nightmares too, especially ones where anything chases me.

Though there is only one thing that forces me to wake up as soon as it appears in my dream. Back-and-forth movement. Pendulums and metronomes for example. If something starts moving like that, I wake up. I don't know why.

But back on topic, I remember some fairly creepy real experiences from my childhood.

As a bit of a background, we were a fairly big family, I have 6 siblings in all though not all of us lived together due to huge age differences. When I was a child, we lived in a really nice yet low-income neighborhood of terraced houses. Nothing special in its history, no incidents I could find in the area.

One day, one of my siblings moved away and their room was given to my big sister and thus I had a room all for myself. I was excited, though it felt a bit lonely because I got along so well with said sister.

All her stuff was moved and went to sleep all alone for the first time in my life.

That night, I couldn't sleep. I was lonely, but thought I should be a big boy and just get used to it. After tossing and turning for a while, I finally started falling asleep. That's when I heard footsteps somewhere close by.

I jolted wide awake and listened. I didn't realize right away what was so scary, but when it came to me...

It sounded like someone was climbing up stairs.

Our house only had one floor.

Eventually the footsteps faded, but I didn't sleep for the rest of that night.

Can't sleep, pendulums will get me.

Mini-hiatus over me thinks.

So, scary story.

Hmmmm. Has to be this one:

As a kid, I use to live in a double story house, bedrooms upstairs, kitchen and lounge on the bottom.

I came downstairs to get a snack and was reading something on the table, and in the hallway between the laundry, kitchen and backdoor, there was a sudden, bright, flash of red light, followed by white, and then nothing.

I was incredibly confused, went and looked and it was caused by literally nothing. No power shortages, no lights flickering, no electronics. and it looked like it came from outside, when we had a massive backyard with /nothing/ near it.

It's creeped me out to this day, given there was nothing at all to cause it that made logical sense, and I had "seen" weird things in the sky before xD

(I've watched 'stars' move across the sky in a way that's not normal to stars or satellites. In that they moved forwards, back, got closer, and further, and disapeared while I was watching it xD)

So yea. Aliens.
