How do you get alchemy points for learning spells? Also, how do you get your pet to the next tier? Thanks!!
read books to them
Any books in particular? I've read like almost twenty books - how many do I need to read? There isn't another way?
Well I think Jolette has 5 or 6 alchemy points and she's read about 550 books. Stat boosters can up your intelligence too but reading is the best way to get alchemy points. As for tier, the higher level and stronger the pet the higher the tier.
[edit] titles don't matter cheap books cd's even scraps of paper count the same as pricey rare books.
Every sixteen books you read, you get one alchemy point. You can only read each book to each pet once.

there's a training center in Riverside for increasing stats. Fighting in the Coloseum will give you experience points that you can spend to increase stats. Stat boosters (shinwa grants them for her quest sometimes) increase stats.
Every sixteenth INT point needs to be a book. The others can be boosters or job center prizes. If you miss a multiple of sixteen but remember to read a book on the next, you get both AP.
You can earn points to buy int for your pet by playing Mystic Spindles. This works best when your pet has low int because the cost of buying points increases as your Int increases. For example, my pet with 1277 Int costs 10,863 pts to go up one Int, but my pet with 112 Int oly costs 961 pts.
You can also randomly get Int increases by getting your pet a job. Every day when you collect the income, they have a small chance of getting a stat increase (including Int).

Wow thanks everyone, this is great info!! I appreciate your time!
you are welcome!
I have adopted some new pets with the Anniversary and I am finding Champion and Dvine Denizhen useful scrolls to fight with weak pets. It does take 64 books to use the first, and 176 to keep them both in memory (if you need to do so, you can only cast one spell per round) together. Compared to the cost of [item2=scalpel of doom] which I am also finding dang useful, this is not too expensive.
