Loving the Carl Quests for Keel Hauliday! Thanks so much -- it's a great idea. :)
I like this a lot, though I don't absolutely love it. (I would love some kind of shop where I could get every item I wanted, like many of the other events. But I know that's probably never going to be the case with Keel Hauliday. -deep sigh-) It certainly has upped my chances of getting at least some of them items I want. RSing... isn't going so well... And my luck with vending is almost as bad.
In summary: Thank you, staff, for the change! It is a very good idea, IMO.
Having tried vending for two or three days and getting 2 wears when maxing out, I'm SUPER happy Carl is giving out not only stuff restocking now, but retired stuff. 8D I was hoping for something like this to happen. c: Now I might get one of the missing wench skirts after all. Thank you!
Some people were saying this doesn't help them at all because the map pieces are so expensive, so I checked them out and holy carp they really are insanely expensive. When I started playing a bit over five years ago I got most of them from random events and had to buy maybe two or three, one of which was really expensive (well, what was considered expensive at the time). Then again I was online all the time my first year so maybe my experience is a bit skewed.
But yeah, to us who do have access to Carl this is great, if only for the chance at retired items.
I also paid a large sum on the Charted pieces last year. Of course, right now it doesn't appear to be worthwile to buy the map pieces just to do some Carl with pirate items quests, but when you gather the pieces throughout the year, you can join this festival next year around. Also, when you do Carl regulary, he's worth it in the long run. It isn't really that bad.
And I love that Carl is giving out retired stuff now! I love doing his quests, because he sometimes surprises me with nice Subueatique stuff, but adding pirate items to the mix is really nice.
I absolutely love it! :D especially the retired items... got an amazing wench skirt worth 30 mil in US 0_o
I like the idea. Even if you don't have access to the Omen Islands you should profit from the change as more of the pirate items are going to find their way into the economy what's making it easier to get them.
I'm really glad to see this happen ❤️!
I have a super nice gaming PC setup + a direct line to my router and I still miss a lot of stuff in the Freyalise shop, so I know how frustrating it is to miss stuff and I feel for anyone who flat out can't restock/has a slower computer.
I also disagree that the map isn't worth it for Carl's quests. Right now a full map runs 49.3m (I priced it this morning) (don't judge me), and one book alone that I got from Carl iswas in shops for 35m but is still at 10m. At the end of this event, if I hadn't gotten a copy from Carl/restocking... I'd have paid that for it x: Most people pay big at the end (or pay very well during for a nice discount) to complete collections knowing it'll be a full year before they have a chance again. I have no doubt that many/most collectables will retain enough value to make up that 49m and/or save you more by getting you the items you wanted.
Anyways awesome change. Really glad this happened and I, too, hope this becomes an annual thing c:! Gives a lot more people room for profit and brings prices down.
Interesting change to the quest: Carl now asks for 1 Rathskeller item and another item. I've had the other item be 200k+ in user shops, other times it's something cheap. Perhaps this is an attempt to make things feel more equal between those who have access and those who don't?
Why is he giving non-FTC items when he falls asleep ?
He always does that? He also has a chance to give non-FTC items when he's awake too.
Thank you for doing this.
As my semester has rolled in, at times I have arrived home at 11:30 pm and rushed to do my battle quests. You can easily imagine that I have little time to spare on other days, even if I arrive home early. Allowing someone like me do to 10 carl quests, which don't take long, is such a boon for casual players.
This is the best decision that has been made all year on Subeta.
excluding for the day he started giving out FTC, all other days when he fell asleep he gave non-FTC only.
I'm not sure what you are saying. We didn't edit his prize pool for when he falls asleep, so he shouldn't be giving out FTC when he falls asleep. His pool should be the same from before the change when he falls asleep (though we did up the chance to get a quest point during that time).
Sooooo happy about this! He gave me an item I've been trying to snag since year one of this event! I could never snag it on my own, so I am super excited about this and I hope it happens again next year!
lol he seems to be giving out items when drunk a lot nowXD I did like the beginning. Now its mostly just retired clothes. What I don't understand is why does he give out so much rares that are 20k or under? They don't seem much rare to me.
I love this change a lot. I got a bunch of super rare plushies that normally go for like 30mil or more... so getting those out of the way is amazing. <3 Plus a few extra super rares are nice. Thank you Carl!
I love that he also gives out retired items! I cleared out so many WL items this week. I hope this trend might continue with further holidays with other quests and inflated retireds- maybe Quentin could have a chance of giving out those darn candy rings on Morostide? :)
