Can there be a more than 5 sec wait for rsing there? n 1 min would be nice. 5 mins would be awesomesauce!!! n Since there are now vend limits and non-wears types (if they vend) are subjected to rarity caps of their designated VM.
The wait would do almost nothing with the small restocks there... 75% of them are 1-3 items, if I remember that correctly. I think a waiting period + larger restocks would help immensely.

Most restocks only have 1-3 items and 1-5 copies if each item. Considering there's probably at least 250+ users sitting there restocking I don't even think a 30 minute wait would help (it'd just support multis).
A better idea is bigger stocks each time it restocks, like 10+ items rather than just a few.
I'd also support a high chance of getting freyalise items from Carl this week, too. It'd make sense for him to have gotten ahold of them.
Just make FTC the mystery box shop for a day... that works too. :)
Yes please MB, too XD! WATCH THE GREATEST SP SINK EVER WORK ITS MAGIC y/y.
I think Mystery Box is a great idea :)
I was wondering if it might help to add captchas to all items, rather than just the ones above a certain rarity? That way you can't just refresh to grab them all.
It might even the playing ground, at least for the lower rarity items.

Ew, no. No wait time. That's what killed restocking at Subeautique.
Yes to Mystery Box for a day, though. That'd be "awesomesauce".
I gotta go with on this. I can appreciate your desire to turn a profit, but I think there are just too many users who don't have the time/ability to sit all day and stalk shops and vending just isn't always an option. There are LOTS of frustrated would-be-shoppers out there.
Then those people will have to buy the stuff from those that DO have the time to sit all day and refresh.
Honestly, it's not entirely about making profit. I'm sick of everything being dumbed down, to suit those who whine and carry on about "having lives" and "no time to spend constantly refreshing and hoping". Then you miss out. Simple as that.
I mean, think about it. That's like saying "oh, these tickets I wanted to buy to go to my favorite concert go on sale today... But I have to work/take care of my child/sick family member... They should restrict others from buying the tickets, so I have a better chance at getting one."
Sounds really selfish, if you ask me.
Not to mention, with a limitation like the OP is suggesting, it takes the fun and excitement out of restocking entirely. And that rush you feel, when you finally manage to nab an item you've been longing for is replaced by a fleeting moment of "yay I got it". I remember, back before Subeautique became its own shop, when you snagged that new, expensive wig, you felt a tremendous rush of accomplishment and pride... That's gone now, because the skill involved in restocking SubQ is at least halved, if not more. You have to have an invite. You have a waiting period. And, because of that, all the sought after items mostly become cheap quickly, and the lesser sought after stuff is still worth a decent chunk, because people glaze over it, knowing that "oh, this really pretty R:90 is gonna be what people want... Not so much this R:80. I'm gonna go for the highly desirable items, over the easily restockable ones." And thus, the prices get all fucked up.
But I'm beginning to ramble. My point is, if a time limit is implemented, it will pretty much, at least in my opinion, kill everything good and exciting about restocking as a whole.
If it was a regular shop we were talking about, I'd agree with you. It's not though. It's for a very limited time during a special event.
Also keep in mind that not everyone has internet service as fast as yours is. You win the RS speed wars everyday in lots of shops so I think you can let some other people have a chance once in a blue moon in a single shop.
And it IS being selfish. Your entire "rush" comes from taking something before some else can get it. And it is about profit or you wouldn't be moaning about SubQ.
I think it's okay to be selfish sometimes. We all are self-centered in our own individual ways. It's fine, even healthy perhaps, to be competitive. I don't want to imply you should be any different than you are now. I'm just saying that it's nice to share sometimes.
I also want to say that I think the best part of Subeta isn't RS or any other specific activity. I think the best part of Subeta is the people. All of the people, even you and me. :)
While I understand where you're coming from, I just don't necessarily agree. The shop is annual, meaning that, unless the staff decides to end the holiday (which I highly doubt will ever happen), it will be back the next year. And since it's around for ten days, that gives others plenty of time to try and grab some of the stuff they want. If not this year, then the next. And if they can't wait, they have the option of purchasing the things they want from user shops.
I understand it's frustrating, I really do. I quite often missed out on things I wanted last year (haven't had a chance to try my luck this year, yet - using a kindle = no chance at getting anything from the shop, lol), but I didn't give up, and ended up grabbing quiet a few things I wanted/needed. And it was fun. Even when I missed.
Pinging friends - come weigh in on this, if you like. C:
I agree to putting it in the Mystery Box, but not an increased wait time. Not everyone can rs easily, that sucks but I don't think making rsing easier is a better solution than putting out more ways of getting the items. One that's not Omen Islands-specific (Mystery Box) would be nice, since we now have vending or Carl, which are both on the islands.
I like the MB idea mentioned in posts above. The hard part about that though, would be that items would be even more lower in value. I think it should still have some high value a little. I mean it does only come around for 10 days. They don't discount the BlackHeart Hollow do they?
To be honest, that's not how it works xD;
99% of ticket sales are done online now [something people can and do while at work], or if someone really has a job they can probably afford the pre-sale prices.
The current way the Frey shop works was more like Black Friday meets Con exclusives where there's a mad rush of frenzied people to get a limited amount of stuff that can only be obtained by a select few [good restockers, or people who live in San Diego/cna take the time off to fly there] and then is turned around and sold for profit online/on Craigslist while a great deal of people gained nothing more than disappointment and frustrations. No company should AIM to be like that, unless they want to file bankrupcy/for unemployement.
The way the Frey shop worked was just fine circa 2 years ago but with an increasing amount of items stocking, the fact that some of the original items are still extremely expensive (Mermaid/Piroctapus), AND the fact that more users are playing the site than 2 years ago = the system needs to be reworked.
I'm against longer wait times because it won't help like it did with Tique, but like the Carl change and I hope to see more stuff stocking, too.
And yeah inb4, I've been restocking and yeah I've made 50 something million and I'd rather give up profit to actually get all of the things I want vs. wasting that profit buying the things I require for collecting.
Subeta needs to seriously STOP with making collecting things impossible because I really doubt a handful of blissfully content restockers will keep the site running and it's staff paid and there is a huge line in the sand between "things should be hard to get" and "hope you wanna give all of your money to someone who got lucky". Maybe they'd have more longer term players and less "15 minutes a day or less" players if the site was more willing to make things idk, obtainable :T

Yep. waves goodbye to All The Things forum title see ya never
Carl was a good idea, except dude fell asleep on me three times. NO, NOT TODAY. I NEED THOSE FTC ITEMS, NOT OTHER CRAP.
If you noticed, we didn't put that many new items out this year for Keel Hauliday. I didn't want a lot of new items to overflow the shop when there are still items from previous years that are worth a lot (stickers, beanbags, etc) that need to obviously get out. I purposely didn't unretire old items that are worth roughly 5k, either, so they wouldn't clog up the shop.
Carl has been changed to give out items from the shop, both retired and currently stocking items. I've made the chances of finding map pieces better for those who still haven't completed the map. We are looking at different things to make sure the items go out, but not completely devaluing them. That's why the food achievements were created this year for Rathskeller Inn. Rathskeller is a shop that gets item once a year and stocks all year and quite frankly it wasn't really work restocking out of.
I've been toying with the idea of making the mystery box focus on trading company one day for a higher price than it works at now, but at least it'll give those without a map the opportunity at some of the items. YOU GUYS ALL SPOILED MY LET'S BRING CARL TO THE PARTY WITH THIS BOARD (I was really hoping we could get that out before you guys started suggesting it haha).
and I work together to make sure that items do manage to find their way out but also not become useless. We've discussed briefly (once she's back for good, we'll discuss it in more detail) how to bring back islander/pirate shop items since new users obviously don't have the points for those items but still need things for collections, just like old EPICon items.
I don't support this OP idea. Different holidays have different games and skillz associated with them. Reading Drive was all about patient accumulation. Battle of the Bands was HA contest + new promotional crap flinging game. This one's all about the ferocious Restock War.
Don't like RS Wars?, catch up on your scratchcards eaterpets or all the new Achevements...there's so much to do now since the Anniversary!
^^ I don't think BotB should ever be included in any argument ever XD
Let's see though... Survival: Collect floating objects and click a link (or two). Masquerade: Click a link. Vesnali: Collect floating objects and click a link. Morostide: Click a couple links and hope your HA doesn't turn into a monster. Luminaire: Click a link everyday and get free stuff, maybe decorate a tree, and throw gifts at people. Keelhauliday: Sit on the computer all day and hope you catch a good item to complete your collection, or make millions so you can buy all the collection items from other users.
sings one of these things is not like the other, one of these things just doesn't belong :)
But I'm glad and are working to make the items more obtainable. Please don't ever leave the site, either of you. You give me hope.
