So ... last night while I was at work, my seven year old miniature dachshund managed to get into an unopened box of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Pop Tarts. This morning I think she is regretting it. I wake up to her vomitting, and then she threw up in the bathroom while I was in the shower. However, she still has some spunk to her and wants to play and run around. But I am concerned (both about her and financially) Is there anything that I may be able to do, at home to help her feel better?

I did call my vet but the receptionist wasn't much help and I don't know if my vet was in today or not. OTL

Given that they are pop-tarts, and they don't usually have a high cacao content, I'd say they should be alright, just a bit sick for a while. The higher the cacao content, the more toxic it is (Like dark chocolate, etc.). It also depends on the size of the dog.

Keep an eye on them, and I'd highly suggest a trip to the vet just to be sure, since they can still get 'poisoned' from chocolate and caffeine if they ingest any.

Just feed her something soft on her stomach, chicken and rice is one that's shared among a large group of dog owners I talk to, and it might help her not feel sick.

Silly girl, pop-tarts aren't for doggies. :c
