So why does it matter how rare something is? What good is putting something in a pets treasure? What does putting something in your vault mean? Should I save things that are rare or just super rare things? How do you know what's really worth a lot? Should rare weapons be equipped or hoarded? How do I even find out what all the items in my inventory are actually used for? Like gems or roots or seeds or wands!

I have a million questions and I don't know how to get them answered except to post here. YES, I've read the newbie thing by Sexy and yes I've looked through the newbie forums. I simply don't find adequate answers to my questions.

  1. I'm not able to explain the rarity stuff in proper English, I guess :(
  2. Pet treasures are for fun. A lot of people have themed pets and it looks really nice to have a fitting treasure chest for them.
  3. The vault is a place for safekeeping, you can shove your items into it via using quick stock (you need a shop to use and find it) or every item on its own in you inventory. 4./5. You can always use the shop search to get an idea of the value of an item. Whether to save it (put it in your vault or a gallery) or sell it, it is up to you to decide.
  4. Depends on the weapon. There are good ones and bad ones, you may want to check the battle forum and have a look there to get a grip of battling and weapons :) Maleria also asks for weapons in her quests, you might find it useful to keep some instead of buying them when being asked.
  5. There is a site called Subetalodge. It is a fansite and has an item database where you can look up items. Coda Cave gems are required for creating galactic pets, some root (the Aenoid ones) are wearables or can be used for creating scrolls, seeds can be used in the gardens at Veta Lake (the barns on the upper right side) to grow flowers.

Feel free to ask more questions ;)

to get someones attention you can always ping someone with putting a @ in front of the name :)

and I find it helpful to use the dashboard to get around the site easier. You can find it here . I recommend the "basic user info ("subeta: your name")", shop search and navigation. Quests and shops are not bad either, you have the direct links and also a counter for the quests. When december starts Melody's cottage is a must-have, too.

this is the right place to post and you are welcome to ask you questions here. You are more likely to get all your questions answered if you only ask a few or only one per topic.

  1. Rarity is (kinda sorta) an arbitrary measure of how likely the site will randomly generate an item. There are exceptions to this, so it's not the be-all and end-all.

  2. Your Vault doesn't have a size limit, and shops are about to get one. I never used mine much in the past, because shops are more functional than the Vault ever was-just make one of your shops a gallery or charge a price you are willing to sell at, no matter how high that happens to be compared to the current market. It also used to happen that a random event would sometimes steal items from your Inventory and this no longer happens, so the only safety feature of the vault nowadays is if you are using the Ultimate Zapper.

  3. Unless it amuses you, don't save rare things. Some rare things are profitable to have and sell right now, and some are not and there's no easy way for someone new to tell, sorry.

Me I love the Holiday Items here so I hoard those.

  1. You could ask? Use the Shop Search to see how many are out there and what users are asking. See if there are any in Trades.

  2. Most of the really rare weapons that are worth tons of sP are going to be impossible for you to get, because they are loot from difficult Challengers or were once available regularly on site and got retired. This isn't such an important or likely thing for a new player to find unless the Token Shop restocks or you score the Riptide from Ocean Depths or Shinigami from Blackheard Hollow.

It didn't amuse the old-guard of the Battle Coloseum that new players could chuck out a ton of sP and buy to use powerful weaponry so now weapons are tiered so weak pets can't use the best weapons. Sometimes quite nice weapons aren't worth much, simply because there's no market for it-anyone who could use one already has one.

I don't buy the idea that things have an intrinsic worth-a-lot everything is situational. Those Holiday Items I (still) hoard? Didn't used to be worth crap! I did it for my own amusement and to make sure that old items didn't get deleted or lost never to be seen again. Nowadays Quentin asks for them in their quest, and so they're worth something (even the party items from this recent anniversary will likely be worth something in a few years).

The TPTB at Subeta for several years were engaging in some pretty intense deflationary policies, because it used to be "a thing" for users to scream about inflation. But when the prices for rare items started dropping because now users didn't have the sP to spend on them? (deflation, that's what it is?, duh-uh!) More Loud Screams! So SubetaTeam used to go into shops and buy items to some entirely arbitrary (and in my opinion unjust, considering deflation was their intended policy) value.

So yeah, there's a bit of Random going on. :) Roll with it? Subeta's fun anyways IMO.
