I appreciate scratchcards getting an alert for when you can buy one again, but I wish it was optional, like most other games. I just want to buy one scratchcard a day, not get pinged 5 minutes later.

They were testing out auto-alerts, and I think most people didn't like it, but they never turned it off. I think there was a suggestion to remove it a while back. Might time to submit another suggestion to get rid of it.

- I think I'll move this to the feedback section, cause I agree it would be nice to give us the options to set the alert like how it is with crypts and arctic frost.

I like it, it saves me the trouble of bookmarking the link while doing MDQ . The same click used to set a manual alert is used to dispatch the event.

I like the autoalert.

For those of us who like scratchcards and want to buy all we can, the autoalert is a huge benefit and having to click a new "remind me" every five minutes adds up. All those who don't want another alert have to do is: ignore the next alert. Over the course of my playing Subeta, there's already tons of alerts and events going on, so just one alert you have to click off doesn't seem so onerous to me.

I agree with that it is handy but maybe instead of having to click an alert every time it could be something in our options so you can have it permanently disabled or enabled

It seems really odd to me that scratch cards are the only thing which gives the auto alert. I find it pretty annoying, even when I am doing MD. Yes, it's "just one click" to get rid of it, but it would also one click to set an alert if you wanted one if they were to add it in. I'd much rather be given the option to have an alert than have one foisted on me regardless.

I love the auto-alerts. I'm trying to buy as many as I can so the reminder every 5 mins really helps keep on top of them. I wish more parts of the site - the crypts, the training centre, mallarchy pond, polar ice fields, etc - had them. An options page where we could choose our preferences would obviously be the best solution for both parties.

I too love the auto alert. I guess it may be just me but sometimes with the alerts you have to set yourself I have trouble with them. Either I forget (random is one I have to make sure I don't navigate away or close the tab because then you can't set the alert you get the "you've already played" message) or the site hiccuped/went down and it didn't go through and I don't realize until hours later that I never got an alert for something. Or I've done the set the alert multiple times coughsice fieldscoughs because I can't tell if I set the alert or not until later I get 5+ alerts for one thing. lol

Totally annoying. It's also not that accurate in that I get the ping some time after I can buy another one. I agree with about creating an option to set our preferences. It would be a win-win solution. c:

I don't mind the alert for them, per se, but I would like the option somewhere to set alerts for things either to on or off. I forget to click the "set alert" for things all the time and then I forget about it til wayyyy later when I realise, wait why didn't I get an alert?. So I can support that.

Auto alert = annoying for something that happens every 5 minutes. But i would love to see this with crypts, ice fields, bug game, etc things that aren't every 5 minutes, but longer time periods.

I love the auto alerts. I wish the site would incorporate a page where you could toggle on/off which you wanted them for though, that way you aren't getting alerts every 5 minutes if you don't want it.

I really don't like the auto-alerts for scratchcards. I would like to set an alert sometimes, so I don't want a toggle on/off. I just don't want it to be automatic; it should function like the other alerts.

[edit]

Also, as has been mentioned many times before... please put the 'set alert' back on the end page of Arctic Frost! I don't like having to remember to go out and back in to set an alert. It should be where it used to be, appearing on the page you get when you fail.

I will love you forever if you trade me:

I stopped buying scratchcards because of the autoalerts xD;

It wouldn't be so bad if the time was 15-30 minutes but every 5 minutes was just, I stopped buying them.

That said I wouldn't mind like autoalerts for things that're seasonal-- ToTing, Dancing, Pumpkin Patch, etc. I would be down with 2 user options being added: Disable/Enable autoalerts (all of them, scratchcards, crypts, reflection, whatever else is timed), and Disable/Enable seasonal autoalerts (ToTing, Dancing, etc). I wouldn't want to see that replace a users ability to set alerts if they wanted to, but just as an option to people who want all of the alerts automated all the time (so that would need to be coded in a manner that would not just disable all alerts for a user, and only automated alerts). But if that was a pain to code eh, definitely not a big deal.

The scratchcard game is very very old (programming wise) and sad. I'm going to try reprogram it soon to update a few things (not making you refresh the page every time something gets scratched, alerts not all the time, overall cleaner code).

I'll look into making the alerts optional for now, but I'd really like to just ... fix the whole thing haha.

Thanks Amber, the scratchcard game could use a good makeover to go along with the new scratchcards. I am all for making alerts an option as well (I like them but they do get annoying after a while)

There are some things I'd love to have auto-alerts for. Particularly, the crypts and any game that requires more than an hour of wait in between (especially because I never remember to turn on alerts.) But scratch card alerts are too often... I often feel like avoiding doing scratch cards to avoid getting constant alerts for them. :/

I AM MAGIC GUYS.

I've made it to where after you purchase a scratchcard, the page that let's you know which one you bought now has a set an alert option! So it's no longer automatic. SO GO DO SCRATCHCARDS GUYS.

(I'm still going to try to eventually update the game like I said above but figured I could at least get this done now that I learned how to do alerts. :))
