I have no words. -facepalm- This is just making a mockery of same-sex couples who fought for their rights to marry. It also makes a mockery of what a marriage is about, it also mocks love. These two bozos married each other so they could win tickets to a football game. -_- Pa-the-tic.
I don't have a problem with it; love isn't a prerequisite of marriage. Plenty of people marry for reasons other than being in love. Plus it could be argued they have a platonic love :P And if that's the case, then how different would such a scenario be from asexuals or other non-sexual/non-romantic life partners marrying?

Can't take anyone seriously who talks about how 'these people are making a mockery of marriage.'
So they don't have the same beliefs as you. Get over it. You're not that important. If it's not okay for Christians, heterosexuals, etc. to say, "x group is making a mockery of marriage," then it's not okay for anyone else to say it either.
Kiwis are pretty passionate about rugby and the edge radio station always does stupid things for a joke. I agree that it is a bit stupid and I personally wouldn't do it but I don't judge them for it.
I think it's important to not take it too seriously, they are the ones who will have to tell it to any future partners, and different people get married for different reasons. I realise that gay marriage is a new concept but people who are straight would probably be willing to marry to win rugby tickets too.
I have no issue with them marrying for rugby tickets, in fact I think it's quite funny. And hey, everyone knows that rugby is awesome and worth a marriage or two.
