I think being able to see who "liked" our avatar would be neat.
I check my avatar likes about once a day and I wish I could click the number to see who those users were.
From there I might check out their profile, pets, etc. and may even begin dialogue ("Thanks for liking my avatar! I love yours too!") and from there may be able to make a new friend.
Perhaps "liking" will become a feature that is more well-used. Maybe it will become a fad, and there could even be a "buy more likes" option/item in the Cash Shop.
The downsides I can see from this are that some people may prefer the anonymous system, and also that it could potentially start a "like for like" issue. However, the "like for like" may already be going on between friends. And, one would have to go into the other users forum posts to find their avatar and like it, which is sort of annoying and that may deter "like for like"ing.
Again, this stems from me wanting to see who liked my avatar. Thoughts?
Edit: suggested there be an option to disable allowing people to see when you like their avatar, which is a great idea. The line could just read "Anonymous" and be un-clickable.
- Eh, I'd be fine with this as long as there is an option to disable allowing people to see when you like their avatar.
I think that would be a great option for those people wishing to remain anon. :)
I also don't really see a problem with "like for likes" because likes don't count for anything except upping your pride? Like, there are no achievements for having your HA liked, it's honestly kind of pointless...so what difference does it make (and what would be the motivation for) having "like for like" threads?
Not for a buy more likes in the cash shop either. Also, I'd really only be for this feature if there was a way to make it anonymous.
Hmm, I like it the way it is actually. Sometimes I do get curious, but I prefer the anonymity .
I don't think I care to see who liked my avatar tbh. ;l I mean if people want to express how much they love someone's avatar, they can always comment them (I've done that and had people do that to me as well) and that personal communication always outweighs any number of likes I may have for the day. But that's just me. c:
An opt in system might not be too bad, as long as it goes both ways - you can see who liked your avatar, but you don't get the option of anonymity when it comes to other people seeing if you've liked them (I think Livejournal did something similar with seeing who had visited your journal, back in the day). I'd personally rather not have people know I've done it; I just feel a little creepy interacting like that with people I don't know and have never spoken to. Let me lurk and hopefully be of the least possible annoyance.
I also prefer to be anonymous with this. I often see an HA on the forum that I think is really well done, so I 'like' it, but I wouldn't necessarily want to talk to that person or have them looking me up.
Eh, no. Popularity contests would ensue more than they already do. "Such a person liked my avatar more than you! We're no longer friends!" Or some such.

I don't see this happening very well. What if User A has User B blocked but User B "likes" one of their HA? We'd have User A complaining that a person who they blocked shouldn't be able to "like" their HA at all. You know this would happen.

Everyone else seems adamant against it, but I like this idea. ^^ But only the part about being able to know who liked it, not the buy more. That seems sort of pointless. I don't know why it matters to people wanting to be anonymous. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal if someone wants to thank another person for the like.
I would actually like this as a sidebar event, as I don't even know someone's liked it unless I check my user prefs and it brings a smile to my face :P
I don't see why people would want anonymity for giving a little positive encouragement, that's kind of weird to me. God forbid you end up in a social situation. We're on subeta, we're practically anonymous anyway.
