A lot of people invest a lot of time, sP, and organization into their galleries and custom collection of items but it seems to be one of the most overlooked features on here. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that may bring more attention to individual galleries. I was thinking one possibility would to have a gallery spotlight with a simple or complex concept behind it. It wouldn't have to be as often as the pet spotlight, maybe like once a week or month. Or if there were other ways to just draw attention to the galleries. What do you think?

As an owner of two themed galleries that are eternally WIPs, I support this. c: Would be nice to spotlight one gallery every once in a while. I wish there was a page linking all the (at least worked on / themed; not random item) galleries, but that probably isn't feasible. ;l

I think it would be great if someone who entered had the description welcome to my junk! and it was just all random items they put into a gallery for no reason whatsoeverXD

Having a spotlight is a bit... Neopetsy. Maybe if there was some sort of directory, where you could look up galleries based on keywords. there are times when I've wanted to look at other galleries with certain themes and the best way I could think of was to use the gallery/shop search to look up items I thought they might have in the hopes of finding what I wanted. It's a long-winded and generally impractical method.

there was a time, when someone had a thread about galleries, just like that, with keywords to help others check out their galleries, and you could asked to be added to the list. it was nice, don't know if still exists

but how would work? staff gets to pick the spotlight gallery? they have too much work already people vote? it makes it again a popularity thing

perhaps there could be an staff made page where you could submit your gallery if you want to, add your own description, your own tags

Definitely don't like the spotlight idea. However 's idea of page where you could submit (and also remove) your own gallery sounds good. Only problem I see is people giving up on finishing them and end up either deleting it or changing it so it no longer resembles the original gallery. I wouldn't want to have to wade through dozens of "dead" or no longer applicable links to see galleries.

Using neopets as an excuse is not an excuse. There are plenty of already existing site features that have a neopets equivalent. I don't understand why galleries can't be spotlighted or have some sort of directory. I put just as much, actually more, work into mine than all of my pet's profiles combined.

There is too little customization possible for galleries.

You only have two ways of organizing items, per alphabetical order or per item ID.

Unless galleries are reorganized to offer more customization in the future, I say no.
