So there are a lot of Achievements on-site. A LOT. And I love it...but, sometimes, I forget precisely where certain achievements are located and have to spend time repeatedly hunting them down to figure out where I am in my progress. Might it be feasible to allow users personally select 5-10 achievements which we are ACTIVELY working on? For example, the various food achievements recently released are my main focus at the moment. I know we already have the "In Progress" tab, but that really means nothing when literally every achievement with partial completion shows up, even if it's not one I ever intend to complete (e.g., the Subeatique and BOTB ones). It would be awesome if another tab could be added with the achievements I am personally tracking to help me stay focused and organized.
Anyone else have input or reactions? I hope this idea hasn't already been suggested, it didn't seem so from my brief review of the Achievement forums, although there was a Need/Have rec that seems to have been implemented for the revamp. What I'm hoping to gain is a little bit more control over which achievements are displayed, kind of like how you can pick select friends to appear on your profile for quicker access :)
Yeah, being able to mark and track certain achievements would be cool.
Another thing I think would be nice would be maybe to add something where if you search for an achievement, it tells you which category that achievement is in. Because sometimes I know the name of the achievement, but I can't remember if it's in Items or Pets or something, so listing that when we search for it would be kind of nice.
I really like this idea. :) It would be cool to have them appear in another section of the achievements page which could be the first section you see when you load the page.
Hope you don't me adding this in here but you got me thinking... it would be nice not having to scroll through all those achievements that you will never be able to get (like BotB, retired achievements etc.) So maybe in addition to favourite achievements you could have like an "achievements graveyard" and be able to select the ones you either can't get or aren't going for... and they sort of disappear from the general lists? With the option to re-add them in if you ever wanted to. I don't know how feasible that would be though.
Oh wow, this is a GREAT GREAT IDEA. Like if we could maybe open that section, and search for the achievement, and drag it into place? Or select it and have it put into the section automatically? And then we could click it or whatever to remove it, or maybe it would be automatically removed when it was completed? This is such a great idea. It would be so much easier to easily check on achievements we're actively working on. I'm pretty well versed in the achievement system, as far as where everything is located, since I've been using it since it was introduced, but even I am having trouble keeping track of all of it at this point, since there are so many!
What do you guys think?
i loved the old page when you saw your newest EARNED achievements, and the newest RELEASED. it should also add a note in which category they are and the suggestion of marking some is really good i mainly want a way to see the new achievements i earned and a more simple way to know the categories
I would ❤ this so much. Being able to quickly see where I am with achievements I really want to work on and to move to a graveyard those I can never have or do not want.
Awesome ideas.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
As someone who lives for achievements i totally support this

I'd love this. :D I'm constantly having to try to sort through them and remember where the ones I'm working on are until I forget about them. :c
Yeah I'd want this xD Although I agree that I also liked the old system, where we could easily see the newest achievements earnt and the newest achievements added on the system.
Besides that, I'd love to see them sorted somehow (maybe alphabetically, at least? but as I said I'd love a custom "newly achieved" sorting too, presuming "newly added" would show properly on the main page) and also reorganized at some point! Some stuff seems quite out of place, making it unintuitive if you're trying to guess their rightful location :x
This would be fantastic, and I'd love to have the achievements reorganized with some new sorting options too! I would probably use alphabetical and newest to oldest if they were available (and showed up correctly!)
- I agree, having an indication of its category placement would help in finding Achievements that are tricky/seem like they belong in multiple areas.
- I don't think a general "Retired" category would be too much to add on, but I know nothing about coding whatsoever :x The BOTB ones are the most irksome right now, since I will literally NEVER be able to get them and just do not want to see cluttering up my lists all the time :/
- Definitely! I love organization and have a poor memory for so much detail, so I'm always losing track of where different achievements are!
- pats Let's hope it comes to pass, then! :D
- That's EXACTLY my problem! I can never remember which achievements I was trying to get, and end up with dozens left half-finished!
- Organization of achievements continues to seem to be a huge pain in the arse. There are a lot that I just don't "get" the category they are lumped into :( Thus, it becomes difficult to relocate them when I need to check my progress.
I'm glad the consensus for this suggestion is generally positive! Since the achievement system is still being revamped, let's hope some coder might be able to see about incorporating some of the ideas! <3
I like this a lot!! I would definitely more actively go for certain achievements if I could more easily track them. I usually do them for a few days, then end up forgetting about them until the next time I browse through my achievement list and say "oh yeah, that." An in-your-face reminder would be super helpful.
