This feels incredibly awkward to post but I'm not really 100% sure how to go about this. I was suppose to start my period a week ago and I started today around 11 am EST. I work with two other women and we are/were synced because they both start either in the beginning or in the middle of the month, and I generally start at the end of the month. I also have a roommate who I start a week after hers and I started two weeks after. There hasn't been much to stress over lately. I don't know if I should go ahead and get a pregnancy test because I've just started, or if I should wait.
I have an OB appointment on October 7th and I made it at the time thinking I would already be off of it. I don't know if I should reschedule or not. .-.
My other concern is: My mom, has shared with me when she found out she was pregnant with me, she still had a period. I don't know if that could, genetically, continue with me. She was told at the time that she couldn't have kids ¬¬ and well, she ended up have me, and my three brothers.
I am not on birth control due to medical reasons, I just can't be on anything, have anything put in or injected(no thanks) due to a high risk of blood clot/P.E. (thanks mom e-e)
So, I don't know what to do OTL
I would recommend sticking with your scheduled appointment just to be certain. With your genetic history and also the fact that this is worrying you, it would most likely settle your mind to get tested by a medical professional who is experienced with the OB field rather than wondering and waiting.

Thank you for your input. I did call the OBGYN when I got to work and expressed my concerns and they also suggested keeping the appointment until something changes. They also suggested to go ahead and take a test over the counter just to be sure.
With all the women being around you, it'd make sense if you'd be a little out of sync.
Are you sexually active? Like, weekly? Daily? Take a preggo test. Even if you can get into a doctor, they can do a blood test (I realize you may not be Canadian ["free" medical care] but it is worth it if you're worried about not seeing your OB soon enough).
I know that even though my co-worker is more dominant that I, she has succumb to my period routine. Do you take birth control?
I have taken that into consideration. And as personal as it is, my boyfriend and I are active, weekly-ish I took one test (while being on my period) and it came out negative. I'm going to take another one when I am off. I called my OBGYN and they suggested that I keep the appointment I have now other wise they wouldnt be able to see me until November ==;
I cannot be on any form of birth control due to medical reasons OTL
Well least you've got a majority of things covered. I don't know about where you live, but pregnancy tests are CRAZY expensive from my pharmacy. It's like 20 dollars for one @ What? I JUST WANT TO KNOW IF I'M PREGNANT OR NOT.
As for lady issues, I have just had a scare. I'm on the Pill, and on my week off I get it three days towards the end. I DIDN'T GET ANYTHING. I got like, the lightest period known to women. Not pregnant, but good lord Body. Please stop being a turd. Telling the story for sympathy xD
On any form?! Including condoms?!
LOL We can do the condoms I just cant be on any pills, or any form of BC in a medical term. After my mom had a PE Im at high risk for them as well. I use to be on one called Loestroen and it really kind of screwed me over OTL so I wont take them on top of the medical history. this includes injections and other new forms of BC that I dont want to risk XD
The test I got was like. O-O $8 USD
I do want kids in my future too. Just not right now ;o; I mean if it happens it happens.
- Take the tests, they're easy. Sometimes stress or weather changes even can change up your period. Always good to be safe and take the test though.
Well at least you've got condoms!!! Sorry that the other forms of female BC aren't great for you :C I can't use any form of lube @ Ironies of ironies the hypoallergenic lube makes both my partner and I break out in a rash. Condoms are our death traps. Alternatively, there are female condoms out there - have you seen them? They're like little blankets for your vagina, oh lawd.
EIGHT DOLLARS? I gotta get my BF a passport and head on down, that's insanity!!
is right about the weather and stress. Stress was a big one for me about a year ago where I'd skip, a lot.
I never considered the weather changing. We moved here in the mountains of NC in April -- so the altitude is different and the air is thinner as well. x: Do you think the change could be that drastic to affect our hormones and what not?
- It definitely could be, especially since it's probably starting to cool down there, and your body is used to the old altitude. I dunno how long it would be an issue for though, if it would already have regulated since april, or if its just the change of seasons at the higher altitude combined with everyday stress. It has an unlimited number of possible explanations. Thats the annoying thing about periods haha.
pretty much covered it. It took my body a year to return to a normal period when I moved to Southern Ontario, a very. very humid and warm climate. I moved from B.C. (I MISS DAT WEATHER) to Alberta (dry as booooones in a desert) to Ontario. So humid. I'm swimming through the weather daily. When I moved here I got thee WORST heaviest, horrible cramps I've had in my life. Then it would be gone the next month then eight more months of the not being able to move out of bed. I had to take time off work because I couldn't stand (literally) the cramps.
Depends what you're used to. Again, I think you're fiiiiine. It's good to check in on that area anyway, but just do what you've been doing. I think all women are paranoid about if anything goes wrong down there. Two years ago, after not being sexually active for 5 months, my periods disappeared. I THOUGHT I MAGICALLY GOT PREGNANT, so I went to my doctor (small town, no gyn) and got a Pap, everything was fine. I'm just crazy xD
Sometimes, even when you're synced with other ladies your body can give you a week off. I used to be able to set my clock by my cycle and then maybe once a year it would jump a whole week and I'd be like "OH MY GOD I AM DYING" because even though I am not sexually active, I figured that missing a period was like Armageddon or something. xD (I was naive)
Sometimes the cycle of the moon, which doesn't really change, can sort of kick your cycle up or back. One month I had my period, then 2 weeks later had another full period. (I was furious xD )
Anyhow, a week is a fairly normal jump ahead for a period, especially if it is usually like clockwork.
Lair Bears Dance Mix! (play it on shuffle)
Hm.. Yeah my period has never been normal since day one, OTL I've been feeling strangely crampier than normal, and I've had some pretty unbareable cramps to where I can't even stand T-T
I was doing fine April - July and I was working around a female "dominate" job (House Keeping) with other women around my age group and I thought that would have thrown me off, and it didn't. But I was only working there until June when I started this current job I am in right now with two other women, which generally goes one, two and then me. (if that makes any sense LOL ) In my earlier years in high school I had a missed period and I wasn't sexually active, and I thought; "Oh my god I'm the Virgin Mary |8 "
I went from Living in Florida for almost a year, originally from NC ( I didn't notice much of a change with my period with the move ) spent a month in Switzerland ( didn't notice a change ) and then moved back to NC but instead of the coast, living in the mountains but have been living here since April. Only August and September have been weird for me.
I think my body is just trolling me again and being weird OTL
It's probably trolling. We all have had those OMG, AM I THE VIRGIN MARY moments too xD It's just, I dunno. Take it in stride. You really have done a good job trying to make sure of everything. Sucks your OBGYN appointment is so far away D: I've always lived in small town areas (currently living in "the country") so my GP doubles as my OBGYN. Mind you, only one doctor has looked at my who-ha so I'm kinda nervous about my new doctor looking at it xD
I'm dreading my appointment OTL I haven't had a legitimate physical yet and I'm utterly terrified of Doctors and all that jazz. My appointment is about 45 mins from here because the nearest town just has a regular office. ;w;
I wouldn't stress over it too much, because there's nothing you can do in the immediate. I would call your OB and speak to a nurse to let them know about your appointment, how the situation has changed, and then ask if you should keep the appointment or reschedule.
I work with all females (my department has around 50 females altogether). Most of the time I have a pretty set group of people I work with, so we sync, but sometimes I get moved around and if I am with other women for a week or longer my period will be off a bit. No joke. I don't know if I'm really sensitive to it or if other people experience such great fluctuations. Two months ago my period was almost 3 weeks late, but I'm not sexually active so although I was super creeped out by it I didn't need to take any action. I ended up getting it like, the last day of the month, and just this past month I also got it the last day of the month. Recently the floor I am in charge of flooded, so I've been working with a new set of women, and sure enough. Strange how that happens right!?
45minutes, woooow. That's quite a drive. And don't be terrified. When I got my Pap test done, I had to pee...so bad. My doctor (whose been my doctor for YEARS) told me to relax. Then I told her I had to pee the whole time, my; I was embarrassed. "ALWAYS PEE BEFORE DARKMEG. ALWAYS" I wanted to make sure I was "fresh" for my appointment though, but really? She's probably seen worse.
Biggest piece of advice, they are doctors. They've seen a majority of it, and they've seen a lot worse than you. Don't be afraid of them!! They're here to help!! Just relax, tell your OB what you're feeling or ask if she can narrate what's going on (if that helps you).
These appointments, while not the most desired thing, go pretty fast. Make a list of ANY female concerns you have, hormones, breasts, periods, cycles ANYTHING. They are there to help you know about these things. As for the appointment itself just wear something loose fitting for your lower half, sweats, skirts, loose denim. Also IF you are bleeding from the monthlies just let them know at check in and with your nurse as well, they normally nab a pee test to rule out any UTIs or being preggers, but if there's blood in the pee and they don't know it's from the monthlies then you may have to pee for them again.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
