If you read the front page before you login you would notice that the number of people with a Subeta account is around 100,000. Not a bad number, but I've noticed that some of us don't really know what to do outside of events and daily questing. Granted we all make friends, and that's a good thing, but I've noticed that on any given day there are 1,000 of us or less online. To me, that's the number that's not okay so this is what I propose: Tons of people are interested, sign up, but then can't figure out what their supposed to do. If I had to guess we probably get most of our sign-ups during holiday events, and that's both a blessing and a curse because of seasonal users. If we can revive the Subeta Sub-Reddit and make sure it's promoted and regulated properly, than not only will current users get a better picture of what really goes on at Subeta but if we can make it flourish then the users of reddit will become interested as well bringing more traffic here. Not to mention more well-informed users, more friendships, and more money. That's the idea, you can find me as WinterLaces on Reddit.
Thanks for reading, Winter.
I was browsing the subreddit the other day and noticed it's pretty well dead. I think having it revived and awesomeified would be great, even if only to do stuff similar to facebook where they promote coming events or contests, and have random little quiz questions or feedback stuff there too. The upvote/downvote system already in place on Reddit would be a good way to see what kind of support each idea/feedback comment has, because I know I for one am far far more likely to read all of the comments in a reddit thread than on Facebook, and because of some serious anxiety issues, I'm more likely to upvote or downvote something I agree or disagree with, than chime in with my own comment on Facebook or in a forum thread.
I don't really know what reddit is or how to use it so this isn't something that would interest me to be honest. Also we already have the forums for this very thing you've described. I'm not sure how redirecting people to another site would help make more use of the forums that the staff has been trying very hard to get people to use.
the only plus I can see is the chance that a reddit user would sign up for subeta but that applies to literally anywhere you advertise this site via linkback buttons.
As for the upvote/downvote system we already have the ability to like posts. Post with 0 likes = probably no one agreed. post with 6 likes = people agreed.
I don't mean to be anti-reddit, I just don't see that this would accomplish much. Then again since I've never used reddit my whole post is probably invalid.
I'm pretty sure this area is only for and Staff to start topics, but anyways.....
I think really nailed it with their post. Other than he reasons mentioned, just looking at the amount of issues on # subeta portion of tumblr, I really don't think encouraging more activity on a different site would be helpful
