Pings are appreciated.

The past while I've been trying to look at my life objectively and it's just not adding up for me. No matter how I try to angle it, life just doesn't seem worth it.

So my question is this: how do you find/create meaning in your life? What makes life worth living for you? How does one go about trying to make life worth living when everything seems to insurmountably add up towards life not being worth living? I'm not talking a neutral or blank slate to start off with. I'm at a spot where it truly seems like I'm -80ish on a "life worth living" scale of -100 to 100. How does one get into the positive part of the scale?

- There was a point in my life where I was -100 on that scale. The only thing that kept me alive was a nagging feeling that said "things will get better in time".

Here is my 2 year journey from that point in life to today:

I wasn't able to find any meaning in life while I was depressed. All I did was stay on the computer and TV all day locked up in my room. The first step I took to break the depression was admitting I was depressed. Then, I decided I was tired of always being alone, so I talked to a former co-worker and built a short-lived friendship. She then recommended a therapist, who I saw. I had terrible anxiety, so I started taking anti-anxiety pills. After a few months of therapy and pills, I finally was able to look for a career I was interested in. I started the theater tech program at school. From there, I ended up meeting a guy who eventually became my current boyfriend. Later, I went to a club at school and met my current closest friend. I met more people from there and from other classes. Now, I'm a cheery person that loves to hang out with people and be active! I say I'm at 80 on the scale now.

What makes life worth living are the people I love: my boyfriend and my friends. I also am looking forward to a career I actually like.

You need to do things little by little. Ask yourself what you would love to be able to do the most at the moment that you currently can't do because of depression. Find something small you can do to begin the journey to whatever you want to do.
