Because the first thread was only for the premier.
I TOTALLY CALLED MISSY BEING IN IT AND SHOWING UP AFTER SOMEONE DIED. She seems pretty nefarious to me, and the whole "heaven" thing just screams "evil plot." I'm starting to wonder if the dead people in her "heaven" are even the original people.
Also, I thought this episode felt closer to the Classic series than any other modern episode has. I also really loved the Dalek's inner workings; before I viewed them as just squid-brain-things in hi-tech armor, but it's much more complicated than that. The armor is more than just armor, it's a part of the creature itself. It makes the Daleks pretty much cyborgs, which is really cool.
Thoughts?
I'm just super happy that Peter Capaldi is doing a good job. I also love how the doctor's make fun of themselves during their transition. I was worried he would be too aggressive and that the transition from a very endearing Matt Smith, to someone very harsh, wouldn't make sense. I like how they have given Capaldi a touch of amnesia and how he made fun of his aggressive eyebrows too.
I also agree with how the inner workings gave a lovely perspective to the living aspect of the Dalek. =)
I just realized one thing: In the very first Dalek episode, Ian can fit inside a Dalek "armor" (with the Dalek inside gone obviously). With all the inner workings shown in this episode, it doesn't seem like someone would be able to fit. Of course, perhaps the Daleks have begun to rely more on their armor and the technology has changed. Interesting to think about though.
Missy seems to know the Doctor, I'm wondering if she's going to try and make the Doctor answer for their deaths, or maybe turn them against him?
Don't be lasagna!! I love Capaldi as the doctor! It definitely seems to feel more like the old Who. He's so unpredictable!
Yeah, and I like that he can't remember some stuff, and isn't really self-aware when he's being odd.
I think this series is gonna be awesome! And I'm loving Missy! Ooh the intrigue!
Me and my husband were saying who it feels like a whole new series! Matt Smith was wonderful and brilliant in his own right, but 12 is just a whole new thing. He's really great and has a ton of flaws that make him interesting and rich.
yeah totally agree with you there!
I'm really liking the new series so far! It's probably a bit premature but I think Capaldi could end up being my favourite Doctor since he's (even more than others) a blend of previous Doctors and is much darker, unsure of himself and doesn't seem like he's interesting in looking for love. I'm tired of the romance, I'd prefer more action and mystery.
The ending was sad, but expected. It's interesting to see a Dalek that isn't hostile towards the "good" guys!
Can't wait to see who or what Missy is! I wonder if maybe she's a Time Lady, since the Time Lords seem to be making a bit of a comeback. I'm sure she's going to be evil.
Just wanted to stop by and share this with you Whovians tardis cake tutorial
Bathory is hungry for MORE MORE I SAY. - If you think you are unattractive just remember you look like your ancestors, and hey all of them got laid-
I need to vent... just watched the last episode so far (deep water) and I want to barf...
that was so badly written and clara's acting super forced that I've decided to stop wasting time on this show all together... give me back my Doctor!!!!
We all have times like this after the Doctor regens, I hated 11 for a very long time.
true, the only one I loved from the begining was the 10th... and that was only because I hated the 9th begining to end lol
but the sad part is I really wanted to like this doctor, they finally made him old and all but.... so far the episodes are poorly written and the doctor has no personality, just a running eyebrows gag XD
also clara... how can a personality so mediocre shine? and why is it that instead of the doctor being the smartest person in the room he ends up a half-wit for her sake?
that aside the last episode just got on my nerves, and I thought the robin hood episode was bad (we shall never speak of that one... again!)
tbh, the Robin Hood one was the last one I have seen.
But I think that despite Amelia being sterling, Moffat doesn't write females well.
I don't know if you are all watching in the U.S or U.K? I am in the U.K and watching the firt part of the finale this weekend when Missy reveals who she is!
