I just finished watching the American cult classic, The Warriors. I vaguely remember watching some of it when I was very young, admittedly it was sneakily watching it when my dad and older brothers had it on VHS. Mum never let me watch it back then, and I can kind of see why. It is quite the violent film. The movie was great. Some of the actors could have been better sourced. Cyrus (the one who gets shot in the beginning) is a classic example of terrible acting. The way he shouted everything, and the way he was dressed. Omg. I was like, 'You ain't no gangster, look at you, lookin' like some disco ken doll'. xD But other than that, this movie really portrayed the lengths people will go to survive, and to look out for their friends. What freaked me out in the movie was The Baseball Furies. They had their faces painted, and it looked like they were from the 80's rock band, KISS. Anything with painted faces like clowns really gives me the creeps. And I was watching it in a dark room, which probably didn't help things. Another thing that didn't really gel with me, was how after The Warriors leader was set upon, you never found out if he was alive or dead. It just sort of went straight to the remaining Warriors trying to get the hell out of dodge, and back to Coney Island. I won't mention any more, suffice it to say that this is a movie worth watching. And if painted faces scare you as well, watch this with the light on.

My boyfriend had me watch that film the other week, I thought it was good. I'm quite sure I saw a scene on an episode of the Simpsons that parodied it, but I don't remember which episode that was. I just kind of liked the culture that was in the film, with the groups of people, or gangs, as they were called. The beginning bit I thought was very good quality (Though that might not have been the case in the past), and I liked the comic-style transitions as well.
