Seabolt Seabolt

Obviously I want this one to be sea/ocean/pirate themed. I was considering Storm as a potential color, though Hydrus seems like a viable option as well.

Whirlaway Whirlaway

I admit I'm drawing a blank on this one. XD

Boatswain Boatswain

I was thinking maybe angelic?

How about turning you Lain Spectrum or Blacklight? The artwork catches a nice pose that looks like it's in the middle of an acrobatic loop. That sounds appropriate for the name "Whirlaway" to me.

If you have a bloodthirsty pirate character in mind for Seabolt, you could go for one of the Bloodred colors, but I think Hydrus suits that name best. With that name, I'd go with one of the more streamlined Hydrus pets like a Jollin, Serpenth, or Pherret. Something that looks like it can travel through the water at high speeds at a moment's notice.

I usually choose a pet color and species based on the pet's story/personality, so for some of the pets I think you may need a better idea of who you want them to be before you find the perfect match. That being said, I have a few ideas :)

Seabolt - If you're taking him in a bloodthirsty pirate direction there are a few bloodred pets that could be a good match. I'm always a fan of the telenine because the manic expression, but I'm sure most of them could do the idea justice. I absolutely love the hydrus pets! They all have great posture and expression, so I'm sure you could pick from any of them to get the right look for your pet's personality. Storm is one of the more expensive colors at the moment (I'm still working on that for one of my pets, haha) but some of them are beyond gorgeous and could work really well for something to do with big storms over the ocean. Experiment could also be a good idea for this pet.

Whirlaway - this name sounds really vintage, sweet, and happy. This color that first came to mind was the nostalgic lain. Maybe the nostalgic Irion, or the spectrum, chibi, or sweetheart lain.

Boatswain - I'm really unsure which direction to go with this pet. Do you already have a personality idea for him/her? If not you really could just pick whatever species/color you like most and design the pet around that. I feel like this name could work well with galactic, chibi, sweetheart, or steamwork for sure.

Good luck!

Thanks to both of you for the suggestions! It's bee a while since I've played, honestly, so for several of my pets the story has fallen by the wayside. XD

Also don't worry about whether the color is expensive or not, I kind of have been hoarding my loyalty boxes all this time. >>

Seabolt - definitely going to get some overhauling, but originally he was the captain of a ship and a pirate. I haven't really developed him much beyond that though.

Whiraway - the name of a horse that raced Seabiscuit, but within this story she's a captive air spirit that guides and powers an airship (possibly of the same name, I haven't decided yet.)

Boatswain - the name of a dog in the poem "Epitaph to a Dog", which begins:

Near this Spot are deposited the Remains of one who possessed Beauty without Vanity, Strength without Insolence, Courage without Ferocity, and all the virtues of Man without his Vices.

Which is what he's based around, but within his story he's a spirit or ghost, that serves on a ship as a first mate to Seabolt, though admittedly this is going to get a bit of reworking.

With those additions I would stick with hydrus or bloodred for Seabolt, depending on his personality. I still love the idea of the nostalgic lain for whiraway, it has a very "air spirit" and "airship" vibe to it. For Boatswain the best species would be kumos, ruffie, or telenine (montre or celinox could work but are less canine than the others). The angelic kumos would be a great fit for that poem (beautiful by the way!), but I could see the angelic telenine working as well. Going with the first mate of a pirate/ghost theme I could also see any of those as a hydrus, nightmare, or the kumos as a storm. Good luck! C:
