I haven't change my HA in a long time as I have been well........ since I've been criticised in the past for saying what RL issues affect what happens to me as being "a low tactic", long story short - bad things happened and my feelings have been less than ebullient these past few weeks. I've been confronted with this new wardrobe that doesn't let me remove all items and even if I unchecked items when I try to put a new outfit together it eventually refuses to add new items or even let me look at other layers. And this doesn't even include that if I load a saved outfit it puts the items on in reverse order or the fact I can't seem to remove items from my wardrobe. Now, I know there is a very good chance it's because I'm slow on the uptake so any help, hints, clues etc would be very much appreciated.

Nope, its not you, its the beta wardrobe. Its buggy and annoying in many ways.

The only thing that might be really confusing is that you need to make sure to click the x in front of the item name to remove it from your HA. The checkbox after the item name is so that the item doesn't show on your HA, but its still there (so you can compare items).

Almost every time I've used the beta, it eventually refuses to allow me to add more items, even if I've conscientiously removed items as I went along.

The layers have been buggy since the beginning. You never really know what order your HA will end up in. I've had to load, change the order around and save several times to get it to layer correctly.

So, several weeks of the new system being used and we being used as testers and reporting bugs, glitches, broken images it's still not much better than when it started. Is that essentially the story? I understand the whole site is being revamped and worked on but, making HA is well one of the main attractions here. If that doesn't work properly, then what else is there for a talentless person to do? Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone, because there were times I was starting to think 'Is it just me, this site hates?' though I am sorry to hear that you, and I guess, a lot of people are having issues. A few glitches I can deal with, but they're everywhere! And the worst about it is, you never know what's broken from one day to the next.

LOL its been way more than a few weeks...but essentially yes. They have made changes, added the color selector (which, btw, is lovely to work with) and added the ability to remove items (but its arduous and clumsy). I'm not sure why they haven't fixed some of the more obvious and annoying glitches, either they're bored with it, too busy fixing other things, or they just can't figure out why its doing what it is.

Mostly I've been ignoring it and waiting until they actually get categories (drawers or tags or whatever they're going to do) working. Except when the regular wardrobe broke down completely - then I had to use it and it was very frustrating.

Its definitely a challenge coming on every morning, wondering "so what's broken today?" At least most bugs get fixed quickly (though that sometimes causes a cascade of other bugs to turn up). If you haven't seen it already you should take a look at the Everything is broken, lets revamp something else! thread to see that your frustration is certainly not unique.

I have to agree, Stella. I had to take a mini hiatus and was excited to try the new wardrobe, but within a few minutes resigned to keep my current HA until it's less buggy and (hopefully) a bit more user friendly. I hope it's not just me who feels that it's not JUST the bugs...the design itself just feels off somehow.

I like the design. But my mind has been changed so I saw how it could be improved in the discussion thread in Brainstorming about the Wardrobe. Maybe you can see what you are looking for there?

I did see that thread. I'm hopeful that once some of those changes are made it will feel more usable...it's just the current state that I dislike. That's why I'm just waiting until they have the upgrades in place and bugs worked out before I make a final judgement. :)

Well the outfits that were save before the "revamp" all load upside down and no matter how much I try to fix it, not that it matters as I cant save outfits to wardrobe anyway. Yet, I'm needlessly made aware that I can buy an extra slot to save outfits for 250csc which would be nice if I could save outfits in their correct layering order. ATM I cant seem to even save any outfits, all I get is the broken image thing in the corner.
Well I've been in personal/emotional stuff that is poor form to bring up, so I've been told, so I wasn't really in the mood to do much save the minimum on site. I hope your hiatus was a little better (well I hope it was a lot better if I'm honest) than mine. I don't mind the design. I'm relatively new (joined 2012 but didn't really get into it until early/mid 2013) and I recall how fiddly I found everything the first time.So the revamp isn't any worse in terms of learning to use it. It's just once you get used to it it's just the glitches and the broken images and the overall buggy-ness - like layers not saving in the correct position that irk me.

I wouldn't mind beta testing if it was optional - And if they were listening to what people are saying about what they like and dislike.
This is so much like when Microsoft released 8 (HATE THAT OS!!!) with all new computers even though it was still in beta on the site for you to download for free. And even though I still prefer XP for overall ease of use and just how hard you have to work to stuff it up, 7 was a nice compromise between Vista's prettiness and XP's stability and it didn't need to be replaced, not for a while IMO. But when I accidentally spilled a full mug of tea onto my old laptop I had to get a new one and it came with 8. Now even though I didn't kill the replacement, it died on me February 2013 after 3 weeks (HD failure) and I asked specifically for one that came with 7 not 8, because it was a LAPTOP!!! Not a tablet, not a touch screen..... AAAAAAARRGGHHH!!!!! RAGE ATTACK!!!! Sorry about that I just split out of my clothes and trashed a small town.
I went off subject there.....where am I? Oh yes! My convoluted point is don't make consumers beta testers unless they choose to be.

haha the 250CSC thing, that was my fault you can blame me for that one. Keith was all bright shiny new when the beta just came out and I was like I save all my faves, I love extra slots I wanna buy two. So he put that in. :)

Hope the personal stuff will get better for you.

So people listen to you.....hmmmm interesting. I don't suppose you could get onto Microsoft perhaps? :D

I too would probably buy an extra slot if I could get an outfit to save and if by some chance I could get it to work, if it would save correctly instead of in reverse I'd be ecstatic! It's just ATM that "you can buy an extra slot" is taunting me because I cant even save to the actual slots that I have.

And thank you for the kind thought, I appreciate it very much.
