(Hopefully I'm in the right place xD)
I was discussing with muh buddy about the theme from Subq Collections (Like Rainyday has an elemental approach, Eddie Bell makes clothing inspired in food and Argo always use a color as theme) and we came to the conclusion that it would be very neat if the SubQ Designer Radhas would release more collections inspired in Indian culture/ Indian High Fashion. I don't know what was the original concept for this designer (it only has one set!), and I also know very little about Indian Culture, but starting from the point were anything in the world can work as inspiration for art projects, I think this theme could be a great addition to the site's database AND make a strong personality for this fiction designer c:
While we could use more cultural diversity in the wardrobe, I think Subq items are not supposed to be versatile, but high fashion, unique designs, as high fashion really is (plus, there are no recolors xD) Soooo we dig a little and came out with a set of inspirational clothings we would like to share and hopefully help in something!
Disclaimer: This is all Google-based, so correct me if things are wrong. Also, these are for inspirational purposes, so if anyone has something to share such as events, characters, legends, patterns, is very welcome! We went for clothing, but that's just how we are. :P
Going to start with some couture / bridal fashion designers (which are great to Google at any time) xD

Now, a million pictures!
Accessories and some more 'normal' styles: Red sari girl, close-up for hair and accessories --- Red sari girl, full body Fancy crown --- Fancy crown detail Leaf headpiece and multicolored sari --- Multicolored sari, full body In different colors --- Another style, with a croppet jacket kind of top! This one shows the back of the model, too, but it's easier if you just check this page for the whole collection ;D The headpiece could also include huge flowers --- they're seen here again c:
Following a more "futuristic" approach of the sorts: This top! (I'm so sad I couldn't find the fullbody of this D: This dress is quite edgy --- here's the masculine counterpart These aren't so edgy, but also a bit out of the ordinary, especially the lady in the right --- This is a reminder that the set doesn't need to have a wig, jewelled turbans are also fashionable xD The boys also have all sorts of different styles --- here go some more lady outfits: different hair styles and sari approaches + some more of them A group pic of the same fashion show, by JJ Valaya + slightly gypsified approach, also by him
Some randomly themed ones: "Ripped" version by Rina Dhaka; Lots of shine by Gaurav Gupta; A delicate sari style, also by Gupta.
At last, these are some little croquis showing different ways to portray the shawl and neck/head accessories c:
Also, we found these posts regarding commercial bridal saris (or as we think): Buying Bridal Saris and Traditional Indian Wedding Dresses. They have a load of images, and very pretty (and some bold) color pallets! c:
In another article from the same site we have a few commercial hairdos, I'll add images in a spoiler because the article have other non-Indian hairstyles.
Hairstyles

It looks like the user who drew the Radhas Luxe set hasn't been on since Luminaire, and hasn't been an official artist in a very long time. I'd like to see these kinds of items restock in the Sacred Lands Souk (so neglected) rather than the Subeautique, either in the Cavern of Curios or in a new shop for wearables with a silk merchant NPC (Radha herself?) or something. I definitely support culturally diverse items! :)
Speaking of fictional designers, the NPCs that the artists came up with last summer for the SubQ line contest were really fun and I hope to see them again in other avenues.

Yeah, it was a bit tough to research cool things as I know little about the cultural aspects of it... but what I found was so preeeetty u
Wish I knew of lots of Indian players so I'd mass ping them all here but hngh I dont D: (sorry for the random ping) maybe you have any ideas / better ideas / opinions? ^^;

Ah! Yes, that's true, but with the sets revamps, Radhas now has a new artist (all old newly revamped ones do, I believe!) c: I agree with you that we need more fancy things for Sacred Lands/Cavern of Curios, so hopefully this can help them with some more inspiration for those as well! I'd love to see some drapes/veils and similar, more versatile items coming in multiple colors :3
...I miss the Subq contest designers x_x
That's a good point about the artist who revamped the line, thanks for the reminder! Veils and things like the ones from Rainyday Desert Rose set would be amazing. You'd think there would be more going on in the Sacred Lands considering that's where Shinwa, the Wizard, and the Oracle all operate out of.
Come back Camilo.

I do wish Radha released more lines! I would love a kammez!
[Item=Pink Bellflowers]
Wow I love a lot of those sari's and crown. I would love to see some more of that stuff on here.
Those pics are absolutely stunning. I would love to see some more of these on site.
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.
Ocean Conservation Namibia on YouTube... they do good work! https://www.ocnamibia.org
Radha herself won't be releasing any more lines - when a new artist revamps an older artists SBQ line, we don't take it over, we just bring that one set up to date and then it's left again.
That being said, I would absolutely love to have some more diversity in our high fashions. Your examples here are lovely! It can be problematic for us to borrow ideas from other cultures, there is the risk of unintentionally being offensive in ways that our google searching didn't let us in on. But we'll do our best :)
(At the very least, Giselle has something coming up that has influences from Arabian culture...)
Awwwn, too bad! I found characters left in limbo so sad xD But it can be used for other things then :P Hopefully someone will show up here and explain to us what is forbidden and what is not! There are many things that can be made on site without upsetting people, is just a matter of finding the right information ~~
Aw, that's sad to hear ;_; Admittedly, I took 's post here in a very hopeful broad way, that maybe all lines would find artists again, but if it's not the case for Radhas then... it is what it is :c !
I'd still love it if anything like that could make it into the Cavern of Curios or similar shops! ^_^ I understand it's tricky, it could take something as little as a wrong color choice to turn something perfectly acceptable into a horrible thing x_x I figure these designers know what they're doing (like how to be edgy without being offensive) so, while it's not to be copied, it could maybe provide useful guidelines for new ideas... who knows xD /not an artist and not Indian too
I'm sure the creative team is doing their best, thank you for that <3 ! Can't wait to see what Giselle has in line for us xD
Yeah, it's too bad when an artist is gone and thus you can't continue a line... especially when you like Indian traditional clothing in the SBQ. The examples you've included, BTW, are gorgeous! I really like the saris and the hairstyles! :D
