Hi there, So I'm fully aware Subeta is PG-13, but I'm not quite sure if this is crossing the line as nowadays kids see this a fair bit. It's not too offensive, and I'm pretty sure it's used only once, but can you tell me if it would affect spotlight? It's not a problem to remove it if need be :3

The pet story in question is Castiel Novak, he's nearly finished just his potion and a few more story and profile tweaks. Thanks to anyone who can have a look! Teffala x

"Also, remember that any swear words that are part of the Subeta filters cannot be displayed on graphics or be written in a way (such as with chatspeak) to get around the filter."

The answer to your question is no, you cannot have any swear words in your story.

, my only worry is that it's already in the story and it is being displayed, shouldn't it be filtered out?

It's not allowed in the story no matter what because it's in the pack of words that are filtered out.

, Okay sweet, if you don't mind me asking, what you think is a suitable replacement?

It depends on what the context is. Can you quote me the bit of story you're wondering about?

, "'How could you, Cas?' The angel simply looked at the ground, lost for words. '____ sake, Cas, I loved you, ya know? And then - and then you go and do this to me, god dammit, Cas!' The man shoved Cas out of the way,"

Also would "god dammit" be okay?

"For Christ's sake, Cas" would be okay. But, no, because it has 'dammit' in it.

Curse words are allowed in pet stories unless they are used on graphics (as the text on them cannot be filtered) and as long as you don't try to get around the filter by, for example, using chat-speak or putting a period in the word to make it show up for people using the filter.

Really? I was told I couldn't if I wanted to enter for the Spotlight.

, In terms of spotlight, is the story in reference too violent and would 'god dammit' be inappropriate?

The Pet Spotlight rejection thread clearly refers to curse words used on graphics and to curse words that are used by working around the filter so, based on that, I'd assume that using curse words otherwise (aka staying within the rules) is okay as long as they're not used excessively.

As I said however this assumption is based on what I read on that topic, I personally don't particiapte in the spotlight so I cannot speak from personal experience. If there's any doubt I believe you can always make a ticket, I did that once because of an overlay and got a response quickly so I'd assume it'll be the same for story matters...

You can definitely win spotlight with curse words. As long as they aren't in an image they will just get filtered out for those who have the filter on. See my pet amanda ^_^ Cursing like a sailor yo.

Yeah, one of my pets has some cursing present in their friends section (I think? Might be story), and she won the spotlight recently, so it's okay as long as it's not in images. ouo
