Yesterday I couldn't get on the site for more than five minutes, and then it went down for idk how long, because I gave up trying. I didn't get a single chance to earn the bonus points for the bug game. (or even play, for that matter). Why, when the site is having such issues, are we not being allotted any extra time to make up it? Not everyone can be on all day long in hopes of catching the site when it just happens to be working. I was genuinely surprised when I hopped on today to not see at least one extra day for earning those points. (admittedly I have no idea how long the site was down for, but based on peoples reactions and other threads, I'm going to guess at least long enough to piss everyone off.)

Unfortunately, it seems as though not everyone is going to be able to earn the amount of points they potentially could due to all the site errors. I really hope staff takes this into consideration when setting prize points and all that fun stuff.

Yeah, site errors caused me to miss out on some bonus points for both Stealth Bomber (terrrrrrible lag that first day. :/) and also some of the bug game bonus points (cloudflare errors and page down crap).

I think though, that giving extra time to 'make up for it' wouldn't really work, as people who were lucky enough to not have the errors, would just get another day to make more points.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking. Unless they just didn't reset scores one night. Which would be totally cool by me. I haven't missed any points yet, but I'd love to have a day off while others had a chance to catch up.

With all of the downtime during this event, I wouldn't mind a few days with the site totally down just to get this shit figured out if it meant that there wouldn't be this huge problem for the remainder of the event, y'know? And if not...

That is precisely the solution I had hoped to see when the site went down from 9:30pm-2am Subeta Time on the 23rd...and the day after...and the day after...etc ad nauseam.

I've been thinking about this: what about if, at the end of the event, we had a free day where we could earn up to say, 50 points? If you already had the maximum, you couldn't earn more points to the total; but you could catch up otherwise. Personally, I missed 7 points on the 23rd, when the site went down for absolutely ages. It annoys me that I can't earn all the points because of something totally out of my control.

I realise this is pretty much what everyone else has said but I'd thought that same too, and this seems like the most fair solution to me.

Speak of the devil...we've got some planned downtime on Monday. Thank you, staff! Here's hoping the time will allow for a more permanent fix. At any rate, I'm sure it will be nice for the staff to be able to get some work done on the site without hundreds of users freaking out about an unexpected outage.

That seems like a nice solution! It doesn't give anyone an advantage -- just gives those who missed out on some points due to downtime the chance to catch up :D I think I missed about 9 points on the 23rd and, perfectionist that I am, it's really been bothering me ;n;
