Okay. So. I'm looking at creating a new pet and I'd love to have it have the gear symbol that comes with "created" steamwork pets. However, I'm excited to see new steamwork pets that may come out this year due to the masquerade.

My question is, if I create it now, with the gear gender attached, and decide later that I like one of the newer pets BETTER, can I feed the steamwork pet an elixir and then re-make it steamwork and it KEEP the gear gender? Or will the gender change because I've essentially changed the pet?

It's an expensive mistake if I mess it up and I need the name for the entire pet to work. I wouldn't exactly be able to delete the pet, ya know?

Yes, you simply completely create it. Instead of selecting a pet, you put in the name.

I don't think gear pets lose their "gender" when you morph them, but I'm assuming that because my genderless pet didn't change when I morphed it. So I think what you said should work. yeah ignore that

but an UA will definitely clarify for you in a ticket :D

;; if you change the pet from steamwork, after originally creating it for the gear gender, then the pet goes genderless and you'd initially just wasted your time. i don't believe you need to elixir the pet just to change it to a different steamwork pet, however. now going from steamwork to steamwork, i'm not sure if that's possible and if it is then if you lose the gear gender symbol or not so i suggest you file a ticket about that.

oh yeah, I forgot that with creating steamwork pets, your pet doesn't have to be the correct species first. that is, your pet can be a common kumos if you want to turn it into a steamwork aenoid.

I'm not sure if you guys care or not, hah. BUT. That being said, I did make a ticket and mbif said they're going to talk to the programmers because this issue really hasn't rose up. (Leave it up to me to find some big question mark on Subeta. xD) If any of you want to know the answer when it's found, I've no qualms pinging you back here or commenting you. ^_^; Just let me know.
