...that in my sudden haze of omg. Name. WANT. I didn't quite think this through... Some help? :)

I've just adopted Programmer, the female Irion, but frankly - I have no clue what to make her. I've never quite had this problem before XD

The character I have for her is a concept I came up with about a month ago... I'm sorry if this won't make much sense, it's getting pretty late ^^;

Anyway. In an...alternate/future Earth setting after some kind of major ecological distaster that occured a few decades prior there is almost no animals/plants left, other than maybe some cats/dogs and whatever small animals there are. Ants. Moss, grass, maybe a species or two of trees. Humanity picked up the pieces well enough but the world is pretty bland/sterile looking and everyone is moving more and more into virtual reality. There is a huge demand for people who can create very lifelike projections and, other than 'normal' 'I want my fancy virtual residence to have a virtual persian rug' orders, a whole ongoing project of perfectly recreating every extinct species/biome from photos and tapes into this virtual world. The job is a very prestigious one and the courses leading to it difficult, people who finish it are just dubbed 'programmers'.

My character is one of the professors, a middle-aged woman, who got into the field not long after the whole virtual reality thing was first launched. She used to be pretty well known on the market and considered one of the best. Lives alone and is generally known to her students as fair but also severe and hellishly difficult to graduate under; a kind of person who dedicated her whole life to the project. She is old enough to have some rather hazy memories of the world before the catastrophe... she also has an obsession. She keeps trying to recreate a certain kind of butterfly she remembers from before (not entirely sure why it's so important to her yet), over and over, and destroys it every time because every attempt seems off and she won't settle for anything less than perfect.

The problem is she doesn't know what is the effect she wants to achieve anymore but she doesn't want to neither face nor accept that =x

...whew. Now. Color and species pretty please? Any ideas? I've obviously though about glade but heck, they all have some sort of butterfly on them, how am I supposed to choose? contrary to popular belief the fact that I'm not overly fond of Glade in general doesn't help Also, most Glade pets seem 'happy' and she is an old, tired character, I'd be looking for something more... wistful. Or maybe a robot pet for the whole programming part? An Arid-colored pet for simplicity? C'mon, talk to me, people!

I really love the story you have! I think if you wanted a less-happy Glade pet, she could be Archan or Cadogre. They look a bit weary to me, and the Cadogre is robotic at least...

But I think the Arid idea is really good too. When looking through the Arid colours, I somehow feel drawn to the Archan again, I'm not sure why. The Demi looks kind of tired too, and the Montre.

I hope this was helpful in some way. I guess Glade vs. Arid depends on if you want to represent the sterile reality of the world, or the virtual simulations.

Haha, thank you, that was so nice ❤ I think I'm going to scrap the glade idea altogether and go either with robotic or arid... maybe even glacier since they all look so grumpy... but that would be so default for me and what not I don't want to go down that route yet.

Pfft, no, not Wyllop, hovewer tempting xD I was thinking about experiments as well but after the pain I had to go through to get Aquiline into 2285 I don't really think it's that great of an idea =x

Or maybe an experiment? I'm uncertain about this little guy. He would fit a robotic programmer but I am unsure if it matches up with the rest of your character's traits...

Yeah =S Experiment pets tease me, constantly. I rarely entertain the idea. (Weee! I'm lucky!)
