I'm looking back at the past collections of last year and this year and it hit me: there's really not much in the ones corresponding to each month's holiday.

February 2012's didn't really have anything to do about the Epidemic or the love that goes on during that time as well (between Fantine and Skitters). All that was in there were a bunch of baked goods. Yes, I know Fantine's a baker, but it doesn't really go along with what that event is.

March's Collection was nice. It had a bunch of Masquerade items in there.

I adored, simply adored April 2012's DP. Owls. Couldn't get much better. However, April is when Vesnali is and would've been nice had the monthly DP was moreso focused around spring or a combination of both.

September's DP would've been nice had it had more focus of the beginning of Autumn (school starts in autumn), but it was all sci-fi.

November's DP of last year was awesome. Final harvest almost winter. However, some Fireside items wouldn't go amiss, either :P

December's DP of last year was very disappointing. It basically had nothing to do with Luminaire. I was so looking forward to seeing a DP filled with beautiful Lumi items. There were 3 wintery-themed items, but was very disappointed that it wasn't based around the holiday that happens throughout the entire month.

Maybe something new could happen with the rest of the Collections this year? I'd kill to see heavily-influenced Morostide and Lumi Collections.

You'll notice I've left some months out. That's because there's either no holiday which allows for creative liberty or that the ones that did come out this year fit beautifully with its corresponding season ^_^

I think the collections are fine how they are. In the past we've had zodiac themes, animal themes, birth stone themes. I actually really like this year's themes (in regards to months not the collective year), they're very creative and I think if they were always forced to do 'real/subeta holidays' it would get really boring really quick.

I like the fact that not everything during a month is related to Subeta events. We have events to get Morostide, Luminaire items and I would not pay CSC for more of them.

I prefer it the way it is now, if they were themed around Subeta holidays, it'd get a bit same old same old. I like that they don't reference what's going on on Subeta a lot of the time, cos to me collections are always nods to real life stuff, and while I like that Subeta has it's own world and all that jazz, I love the reference/tribute items, and I think it'd be harder for them to do that year in and year out if they also had to reference Subeta holidays at the same time.

I think events are times when all the items should be available with sP, so everyone can enjoy them regardless of how often they play, or how much CSC/sP they have.

Every year? That's boring.

No, the variability they have right now is spectacular. They do a wonderful job. Don't add restrictions to the artists. More interesting the way it is. Probably better for sales, anyway.

we get enough new items with every site holiday... why add even more? also, if they start adding a lot of items to the cash shop, users will complain that everyrthing in the site costs real money. and i agree with a lot of people, keep the variability of items... not everyone is crazy about subeta events and holidays

I like how the collections aren't necessarily tied to the holiday within that month. We don't need to be completely inundated with stuff from a holiday in every aspect of Subeta.

Besides, your example of OWLS instead of just a bunch of flowers and eggs (which we already have lots of) sort of shows how nice it can be to have a completely random theme. :) How would the Sci-Fi things even be released, for example? There isn't a sci-fi holiday. A collection was a great way to get them out.

I sort of adore the way it is now. Like others said, during Morostide and Lumi there's restockables along with free gifts and a lot of other ways to get items relating to that months holiday or the sites events. I don't really think there's a need for even more to be released through the cash shop.

Plus I just really love the surprise element. If things were focused on that months holiday, you would already have an idea what would be in that months collection. This way, it's like 'oh, what a great theme!' and gives you something different to play around with for the month.
