I'm trying to teach a pet another spell, but don't have enough alchemy points. How do I get more?

You need more intelligence. I believe for every 16 books your pet reads, it gets one extra Alchemy Point. You can also get AP with the Spindles game.

Thanks for answering. I figured it had to do with that. I just didn't want to buy more books. Didn't know about the spindles game though. I'll have to go try playing that now.

No problem. :) I checked the battle boards, and on this thread, under the FAQ's spoiler tag, you'll also see a list of items that give your pet more intelligence.
