So I was vending at the Ocean Depths vending machine when I managed to vend a ...I looked and noticed it said "special" and not a restockable rarity. Um o_O is it a glitch or is it another one of those Ocean Depths exclusive items? Thanks for the help. I feel so dumb.

The only thing that I could find on it from Google was this thread from 2009 - here. Other than that, there seems to be little info on it. Hopefully a user older than myself comes to the rescue. :P
Thanks for the info anyway I appreciate it,

I did some digging myself, and couldn't really find anything. It's not a special Ocean Depths item in itself, but just seems to be a retired plushie then, from what I can tell. I have no idea where it originally came from though. I assume the "special" isn't a glitch though, because it's not restockable.
Well thanks the help. :D Hopefully a staff member might help soon.

What a strange prize. I don't know where it originated from but seeing it has an official price of 0 it might be a forgotten event item?
No problem! Subetalodge doesn't have any extra info on it about where it was from. Maybe it IS Ocean Depths specific and just wasn't listed ._.
I have one in my plushie collection and I have no idea where it came from either, it is possible I vended it from OD as well. It's been in my collection for quite some time. I don't think it is an OD exclusive item but I'd be interested in knowing where it came from because it's always sort of bugged me that I didn't know.
Upon reading the topic posted someone had speculated that the plushie was from the first Kumos Day on site. But that's the only info shared.

weird, i wonder why it vends from OD then! it is a subeta mystery.
OD does vend "various retired plushies" according to Subetalodge's vending guide so if it did come from the first Kumos day, maybe that's why? It's one of the retired ones you can get?
I suppose but the plushie should say retired under it and yet it doesn't. Then again sometimes Subeta doesn't label all retired items... retired so perhaps you're right.

You have a point there xD Huh, then I have no idea :P
Working my way through adding notes on SubetaLodge.. The Cuddly Kumos Plushie is one I've not got to yet..
It was a redemption prize for those that purchased one of the real life Kumos plushies..

You can see the news post HERE..
All 10 of the items that were possible to get via redemption are below..
No idea why or if it is meant to be vendable though, it isn't at least a previously known special item from OD..
Ah thank you so very much! I guess I'll just file a ticket and see what staff say I should do with the item. Thanks again!

No worries.. While that is how they were initially released some of them at least have been released in other ways since, several in the Crystal Shop...
OD has been known to vend weird stuff on extremely rare occasions (possibly even rarer than getting a riptide), such as how someone supposedly got a Shinwa stat booster from there once.
Awesome how you have the information there! Though I kind of wonder if some items were more commonly given out as prizes than others, seeing as how there are quite some large differences in prices between some of the items (there is even a big difference between items that don't serve useful functions).
Strangely enough, some items have inconsistent rarity labels, such as how I once vended a glass dolphin (rarity 101) from Prize Get (the item is actually an old donation present, despite the rarity of such donation presents usually being 110).

I can believe that. I don't really pay attention though, to be honest.
Many of those items have been available other ways - mainly the crystal shop and the pie throwing random event. That is what has brought those values down. I remember when I started playing and marveled over the cost of most of those items. I've been on the site for almost 7 years, as a reference.
That is true, though I don't think I quite understand just how the wall clock is way cheaper than the pen or the Yume, despite the pen and Yume being rereleased more often.
