The 2011 Oscar Nominees have been announced. Who isn't on the list that should be, or who made it that shouldn't have? Predictions for the final outcome?
My predictions are: Best Picture: The King's Speech(I'm really pulling for Black Swan, but I don't see it winning.) Best Director: David Fincher, 'The Social Network' Best Actor: Jesse Eisenberg, 'The Social Network' Best Actress:Natalie Portman, 'Black Swan' Best Supporting Actor: Christian Bale 'The Fighter' Best Supporting Actress: Not sure. Best Animated Film: Toy Story 3 (I'm hoping it goes to How to Train your Dragon) Best Foreign Film: Haven't seen any of them Original Screenplay: Inception or The King's Speech Adapted Screenplay: The Social Network Art Direction: It would be amazing if Deathly Hallows: Part 1 won, but I don't see it happening. I'm predicting either True Grit or Inception Costume Design: True Grit Original Song: No idea Original Score:'How to Train Your Dragon' John Powell or 'Inception' Hans Zimmer Documentary: No idea Film Editing: Black Swan Make-up: Wolfman (I'm pissed that Black Swan wasn't nominated) Best Sound Editing: Tron Legacy Sound Mixing: Inception Visual Effects: Inception or Deathly Hallows Best Documentary (Short Subject):No idea Best Visual Short Film: I don't know Best Short Film (Live action): No idea
Inception should totes win best picture, that film was INSANE. HTTYD for best animated pic, SO bloody cute.
AiW for costume design. TRON for sound editing - I wish this had done better in cinemas, I only got to see it once before they took it off :(

I got HTTYD for Christmas, I sobbed. Best Picture is hard to predict. There were so many great films this year. I'll be happy as long as Portman wins Best Actress and Bale wins Best Supporting Actor. c;
I think everything looks right, except that I'm disappointed in the Animated Feature category - something's off when every other category has 5 nominations (10 if you're gunning for Best picture this year), yet one category has only 3 up for the award, especially since there were many great films in animation this year. I've heard that there were 15 submitted, but that 16 had to be submitted for there to be 5 put up. That just isn't right; it's like saying that animation isn't as important because there aren't as many of them.
Now do I really think anything's going to take away a victory for Toy Story's final chapter? Not really (though I'm also hoping How to Train Your Dragon KNOCKS IT DOWN!), but I don't see HTTYD up for Best Picture, so not getting my hopes up on that one. Regardless of such a clear victory, there should be five up there. Last year's nomination for "The Secret of the Kells" led me to that marvelous movie that I would never have heard of without the nomination - a nomination that wouldn't have been had there not been five slots.
While I'm glad to see that "The Illusionist" got nominated in there with the American movies, I still feel animation is being overlooked where it should not be. This was a GREAT year for animation, and there should be more films at least recognized with a nomination.

I hope Hailee Steinfeld wins supporting actress. She was so amazing in True Grit.
I haven't really seen many movies this year and haven't been following the nominations, but I did see the King's Speech, and it was amazing =) If it doesn't win best picture, I hope it at least wins something.
There's no way How to Train Your Dragon is winning Toy Story 3. It'd be a huge shocker.
I've seen both movies, and Toy Story 3 is my pick hands down.
As for Best Picture, it's a tough choice. D:

I know. I had to look over that a couple of times. I swore, at first, it was a joke that Nolan wasn't included. Inception was a MASTERPIECE and Nolan did an excellent job with it!
Okay I really hope The Social Network doesn't win anymore awards. I really didn't like that movie, at all. The only thing I liked about it was the music in the background, which I believe they won an award for?
Toy Story 3 will win Best Animated Feature Film, without a doubt, but I still wish How To Train Your Dragon wins. That movie was just soooo cute c:. I hope "I see the Light" from Tangled wins in the Best Original Song category, that song made me cry. XD
Damn, The Social Network was nominated for almost everything. I'm thinking that Natalie Portman will win Best Actress, even though I haven't seen Black Swan yet. The reviews I've heard about that movie have been excellent, though.
I'm with you on Animated Feature Film. Toy Story 3 will win, but How To Train Your Dragon deserves it.
And I also think that Natalie Portman is going to win best actress. She was amazing. If everything else about that movie had been awful (it wasn't, but if it had been), she still would have made it a good movie.
I'm thinking Inception will win Best Original Score, but I haven't really seen The King's Speech, 127 Hours or the Social Network. The Inception score was awesome.
I think HPDHP1 should win all Nominations. Then Tron, and True Grit.
I want Black Swan to win best picture, James Franco to win best actor, Natalie Portman to win best actress, Geoffrey Rush to win best supporting actor (he was better than Colin Firth IMO), 127 hours to win best film editing, and Deathy Hallows to win best visual effects. The others I'm not too bothered about. I'm also pissed that Black Swan isn't nominated for makeup, I adored the makeup in that film! And where the hell is Danny Boyle in the nominees for Best Director? He did an amazing job with 127 hours! I bet The King's Speech will win a heap of awards. Again.
I'm hoping Social Network doesn't win alot...I hated that movie. I'm gonna update the list tomorrow after the awards are over. Good luck black swan!
