Notes as in say, like little things to remember about your character, settings, or certain specific things you need to remember about your story so that you don't forget.
Do you guys do this? And if you do, does it help? Do you do something different to brainstorm, for example: a bubble chart? (I do not personally do this but when I was a little kid, I had to do it in school) Or do you guys just do the whole story without notes and just remember things?
I'm thinking of doing notes, since I think it might help. But I'd like some fellow writers to give me some of their insight and opinions. It could help since I'm not a big writer but I do like to give my pets some kind of story instead of just letting them sit there like a rotting tomato. XD
All opinions and comments are appreciated!

i definitely do notes. i have a small blurb for each of my characters, just a little sentence that explains their motivations, but if they're more important i'll have a good chunk of text about them! i also have a bubble chart that has my character's relationships down in different colors for different kinds of like, dislike, romance, etc.
it's helpful! sometimes it gets me motivated.

I both write notes and I don't. Separate from my novel, I keep notes of locations and the characters that I've already used/mentioned so that I can keep track the further I get into it. It's a nice reference list when I'm encountering a new character ten thousand words and need to make sure that I'm not making him easily confused for someone that came in two thousand words in.
That being said, I don't write detailed notes. I don't outline my plot nor do I write a ton about the characters in this list. They get a brief hair color, eye color, etc., but they don't get entire backstories.
