Every once in a while, I'll go to the Poll Center just to see if there's anything new. I swear, there hasn't been anything in a really long time. If you're going to have a Poll Center in the first place, I seriously think it should be used. That's kind of the point in it. It makes absolutely no sense to have it and not be able to use it.

I suggest that perhaps there could be a "weekly poll" about something going on in Subeta, perhaps an update, or a revamp (Like they used to do ALL THE TIME), or something going on with the story line of Subeta, like "How do you feel about Oatmeal the goat" or something like that. Just one more thing that people can look forward to every week. Like I said, if you have something like that, don't make it unusable.

Also, someone needs to edit and/or delete the out of date ones every so often. Darkonite Revamp has been up there for a loooong time. It's seriously as if the staff completely forgot that there even was a Poll Center, because they haven't used it in so long. I used to love going down to the poll center and being able to state my opinion on whatever they asked us. Seriously, something needs to be done.

Seriously. That's not hard at all. A new question every once in a while would be nice, I think, like it USED to be. Seriously. It's not that bad.

I do like the idea of polls just for fun. But weekly is too often. I think monthly would work better - because a poll really is work. You need to think up questions that aren't too inane, you need to work out answers that people will think are actually applicable and then you need to type it, check for typos and fit it into the programming.

It gives a chance for people who are shy of the forums (because people do have a bad tendency to mock or get mad at people for their opinions) to feel like they are participating.

generally the polls have been used to gather feedback from a large percentage of the users in regards to the site. Specifically revamps and other changes.

Having a poll for favorite character is, in my opinion, a waste of staffs time because there are other things that they could be doing. Even if they only take 30 seconds to write, that adds up.

To me, the whole point of the poll centre is to get Subetans' opinions on things that really matter to the site (like the revamps), so staff can gauge an opinion without relying on the forums.

So what is the point of having polls added, if the staff aren't going to gain any useful information from it? If we're going to do that, then that just devalues the whole point of the poll centre, just to have "space-filler" polls.

If the staff are going to work on something, I'd rather they worked on things that will have the potential to change something in Subeta, rather than thinking up meaningless polls just so we can vote for our opinion on something that really doesn't matter.

This site itself is a game, but lots and lots of us have invested time and money into it for YEARS, some of us almost a decade. We are a community. We feel passionately about Subeta, and we support the staff's efforts to revamp and update the site. You can't fault us for feeling that spending time adding content to a part of the site that, in the long run, doesn't really do anything for the site, is a waste of time right now. Also, being rude when people voice opinions that differ from yours doesn't help anything.

I don't even know where the poll center is. Centropolis? I have no idea. I don't think it is on many people's list of dailies or even things to do weekly. Not to sound harsh, but it's ... just a poll. There are plenty of other things to do on the site. I think if staff would have found it useful as feedback, they would have posted a poll, but there's a lot of things going around (I get siteupdate pings at least once daily) that to make a poll for every thing is imo pointless. You can post feedback in the forums and you can expand on your feelings and arguments way better than you could in a simple poll.

What quoted says it best. There's no need for new polls unless there's something the staff actually need/want user feedback on. It shouldn't be a, "What is your favourite pet?", "What's your favourite part of the site?", place, it should be used for serious feedback. If people want to answer silly questions they can go to the forums.

Since you brought it up, I vote it's taken away completely. You're right that it's not used, so why should staff bother keeping it around?

I vote that it just stays like it is. It's true that it hardly ever gets used, but that doesn't mean they have to take it away or start adding really trivial and pointless questions like who our favourite character is.

I just want it to stay because they actually ask our opinion on pet revamps. The major ones, not the shading touchups. A lot of people probably take for granted that we're asked our opinion, and any other site would probably just shove the new version onto us without asking how we feel.

You should probably just stop doing that, to be honest. They only do polls on, like I said, revamp stuff (or serious questions), and they announce it when they're looking for feedback. They're not sneakily going in and adding frivolous questions to the poll.

It is used. For useful feedback. Just because it isn't used with high frequency doesn't mean it isn't used. It's not like they added this feature to the site and haven't used it one time ever.

Yep. And while it's true the exact same thing could be done with revamp polls, that's just more of a visual "this, or this". If users want to strike up a conversation about how they feel about the revamps, in detail, that's what the site feedback's revamp feedback subforum is for.

[edit] Also, I've just gone and looked at the poll center, myself. It could use a little fixing up for future revamp feedback polls, or any other useful polls in general. The bars on the answers are not colored in, or anything, and there's some broken html laying around on the Darkonite poll that I answered...

Might as well get rid of the Poll Center altogether. I don't see the point in adding new questions for the sake of it.

Maybe polls can be merged with the forums? Just for staff use. Staff could add a poll for quick feedback on things, and people can add more detailed feedback in reply to the thread.

If the OP is going to have such an attitude toward any kind of disagreement, I'd like to mention that said he wants to get rid of parts of the site with low page views, like the Poll Center for example, during Keith Answers. Polls for things like pet revamps can then just be linked to a temporary page in the News whenever they come up.

People can make their own Subeta polls and link to them if polling is really that fun.

Your account is less than a year old so I have no idea what you mean by that. Please explain how that's relevant if you had another account in the past.

I just voted in a poll about Sarah's Tutorial so there has in fact been new activity since the last Darkonite poll.

You're getting pretty worked up about "one big game le gasp" just because you want to vote in some arbitrary polls and people aren't supporting your suggestion. The site has a lot of statistics in the About Subeta link if things like most popular pet species interest you.
