I usually don't go to the internet of all things for remedies - quite the contrary; my family generally passes down home-made remedies and medicines by hand or tongue. But it's awfully late (4:25 am, to be exact) and I don't want to wake my mum up to ask her for some help.
To keep it short, I feel like I'm simultaneously burning and freezing at the same time. In addition to that, I've got the most painful migraine I've ever experienced, and none of these symptoms are going away - I've been trying to sleep it off, but it gets to the point where my skin gets too hot and it's impossible to sleep.
So, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could at least bring down my temperature so I can get a decent night's sleep? I've taken a ton of acetaminophen for my headache, but I really, really just want to be able to sleep in peace without feeling like my skin is on fire.
Can anyone help put me out of my misery??
;A;
It might be due to your migraine. I had one a few days ago on the left side of my head and the left side of my body went really weak and my hand and foot was tingling. Ibuprofen is able to regulate body temperature and it's also a painkiller. Try taking a medicine that is ibuprofen based and not paracetamol based. Paracetamol is a painkiller and doesn't help with anything else. If you're able to at least bring your temperature down, you might be able to sleep your migraine off. Hope this helps.
Burning and freezing at the same time? Sounds like a nasty fever.
Have you/can you take your temperature?
The migraine could be from the fever.
Open the window and get some fresh air, along with a cool drink, perhaps sleep on top of the blankets tonight. Migraines are horrid, so I feel for you. :(

I just wanted to add that Advil and Nurofen are both ibuprofen based products so if you've got those in your medicine cupboard take some. They should help you a lot. You can take them even though you've been taking a paracetamol based product.
When I feel like that showering usually helps. You should see a neurologist about your migraines. OTC pills won't help a migraine. If they do its not a migraine haha. :neko: Ask for zomig...its a miracle pill.
Migraines can come with more than just the pounding headache, phono and photo phobia, and nausea. It's possible those symptoms you're experiencing has to do with your migraine. What I use works.... it's just a prescription drug so powerful, I'm afraid to take it....
