I kept on getting "play again?" as my only option.
This game might be fun if you could see people's faces. But you can't. So, the game is deadly dull and boring to me, so no, I really REALLY don't want to play it again. But there's no indication that I have met the conditions for the guy to talk to me, and who remembers after that whole dizzy ride through the storm drains? The time rift is unstable enough already do I really have to go through it again just to see...and play this awful game again?
How about a link to ask for the rules again, and a link to show the last bit where he tells you what you need to win to get the info, and finally, how about adding in a FUCK NO erm, a "take your winnings and gloat" option instead of only "play again?"
Since this is plot related:
SPOILER (click to toggle)
If you've won five times, go back to Ziara City (while in the past) and talk to the guy at the Wild Aces hangar again.
I agree that it could be more clear, but I don't find it to be a big deal.
Altogether, I believe. I won my five in a row.
thank you! I'm glad you found it enjoyable, and it will now be for me too, because now I know where the end is to my suffering.
I can confirm it's "all together". I won four in a row, lost two in a row, then won again and was able to progress with the plot.
Glad I could help. :)
Again, I do agree that it could be a bit more explicit to go BACK and talk to him after winning, though.
coolness, I was dreading each loss, now I feel better about it 🦋
I actually think that the rules in general could be more clear, as well. From the text of the plot character, I thought it would be like Old Maid - don't be holding the Joker when all the cards are gone, and you win.
However, I believe in 4 games (after I caught on that something was even hinky) of the strain I played, I was given the text that I'd lost when I didn't even have the Joker, let alone with cards still in my hand. Once I got the last win I needed, I booked it out of there, despite having initially enjoyed it.
Really wasn't very clear if I was doing something wrong, or if something was jacked on the site end due to lag/server retardation/a temperamental e-god/whatever
I thought the rules were pretty straight forward, but I can see where people might've gotten confused. Would've been easier to simply state somewhere that it is like the game "old maid" why? Because it is.
And if you lost while having another card in your hand or no cards at all, that's possibly because every turn you take a card from the person to your left (regardless if you have cards or not) obviously if the person to your left didn't have any cards then you wouldn't have gotten one, but say that last turn they had the joker and you click "continue" since that is the only option other than forfeiting, then guess what? You had the joker at the end so.. insta-loss. That is how I interpreted it anyways.

Except, there were other times when the only option was 'Continue the game' specifically after getting a message that your opponent has no cards. The game continued, your opponent somehow magically re-acquired cards...I dunno. It literally doesn't make any sense to me. It doesn't seem to me that it could be an instant loss, since if they HAVE no cards, clicking continue wouldn't be able to give you the joker...and then, it should be a loss every time, not just...I don't know. I fucking don't know. I keep going BACK to the game and trying to find a pattern, and I can't, and it's just really irksome. I hate not being able to identify patterns in things like this.
there were a couple games when one card was left. amongst the whole crowd it we were just passing the card around to each other... wtf lmao. i was so confused.. I knew there was supposed to be 3 other people but there's no way to tell. could be a lot clearer...
It took me forever to come to the conclusion that there were still cards in play. Since there were 4 people playing. A,B,C,D(we'll make C us) A and B still have cards. C and D have none. (this is gonna be a bit confusing because we're taking from the "right" instead of "left" but it's the same concept) A(has a 4, joker) B(has a 4) C(no cards) D(no cards) A(4,4) B(none) C(none) D(Joker) A(discards cards) B(none) C(Joker) D(none)
In this example.. which is the only way I can figure this works.. A has a joker and the 4, B has a 4, C has no cards and D has no cards. A takes the 4 from B, B can't take a card from C, D takes a card from A (happens to be the Joker) Then A has a pair and discards them, B still can't take from C, C takes from D and ends up with the joker.. thus losing since A discarded.
I had to edit this because I got my own brain mixed up lol, but it should be right now, I think.

Maybe I don't understand you, but the problem with this scenario you have given is that someone should lose within one turn, even if that loser is not you. I've been in games where I've had no cards three times in a row. More than one player would have to have been holding onto a pair, and either gotten very lucky, or their pairs are the same cards.
The game doesn't show you which pairs have been discarded, so this is possible. But it seems awfully unlikely. I think there's another rule we just don't know.
I promise I'm not trying to me argumentative or a dick or something, right out the gates I want to be clear about that.
But I agree with, and personally back up what said about 3+ turns in a row. Also, since reading their post, I've tried to hold off on the end of the game by intentionally holding on to at least one pair until the very end - at some point, even though I didn't put my pair down, I still got the lose text. I just bloody give up trying to put logic to it xD
Oh you're not lol, it's fine.
I honestly don't think we're ever going to figure out exactly how this game works until the person who created it explains to us step by step what is going on in the mechanics. Because I realised this morning like that what I said would make someone lose before you, which doesn't make any sense why you would lose since they lost beforehand. Until then I think I'm just going to try and enjoy it without figuring it out lol.
