I dyed my hair a nice dark brown/red tinted color a few weeks ago and I really enjoy it, but my best friend and I want to dye our hair different colors this weekend. Her purple, me pink. I told her I would do it if I could get my hair to fade fast enough, as the color it is right now will simply NOT hold any color but dark brown or black. The color I want to achieve is a neon pink, so I need my hair to fade a lot. I wash my hair once a day as it frequently gets greasy, so my hair fades a small amount every week usually.

I WANT TO AVOID BLEACH.

The one thing I will simply not do is bleach my hair, because it does HORRIBLE things to it. But I want it to fade as fast as possible, ideally to a light brown by Friday. Soooo, any advice? I have some deep conditioners and all sorts of hair products, so drying my hair out is not a worry, I just want it to fade.

I've heard of a few techniques including oil, producer and dish soap, all things I have around the house. I want to keep the cost to a minimum, but have an effective lift also.

Help me pleaassseeee :(

Only thing I know to suggest is to dye it a lighter shade. I've never heard anything about using dishsoap to lighter hair...

It's just so dark right now that I'm not sure a lighter shade would even do anything :P

i've heard of high ph shampoo to fade quicker, but this website has a handful of 'home remedies' to fade color.

though if you're dying it an unnatural color.. you will need to bleach it if your hair isn't already a light blonde.

Wash it. A lot.

Becareful with what you use to wash it with though. I think if you use the strongest soaps like hardcore dishwasher or something it'll just leave your hair looking dry and unhealthy (the hair dye doesn't help at all with that). Every time you wash try to use conditioner

I'm afraid otherwise there is no easy way -- either you're going to have to let time pass by or rebleach your hair. Especially for those bright colors (ex: neon pink)

Good luck ><

pretty much this. youll need to bleach your hair if you want a neon pink. if youre not dead set on that you could probably achieve a deeper pink (think a little darker than true pink) without it.

I tried the dish soap and it stripped it a bit, but I think I'll just be washing my hair like twice a day until Friday and then bleach it. I'll hate it, but it's worth it for the neon color.

Thanks for your input everyone ^_^
