So, I was in my campus quad and my friend and I noticed a male mallard duck with a broken leg. Turns out some other people noticed and we called the humane society and some lady came to catch it. Its wings were still strong though, and it flew away with its mate, but the lady said it will probably come back and to call her any time, so now time is of the essence. If the leg isn't splinted, the bone will die, infect the blood, and kill the bird.
Turns out some buy accidentally hit it with a baseball.
I read the title as 'the game' :(
'accidentally' haha bull. although I did hit a pigeon with a tennis ball while it was in flight by accident. I was like WOW IM GOOD.
I saw this duck that couldnt quack or fly outside a shop in Ely. It was hiding under a bench because it was so frightened, and you could tell it's always there because of all the duck shit. There was a tub of water that is was drinking out of, so maybe its a pet.. or something. But all the little kids running past kept trying to kick it. I felt so sorry for it. :(
If there a wildlife rehabilitation place anywhere nearby?
I hope someone can help the bird in time. :(
There was a female seagull hit by something a kid threw at my old school, years ago. I remember wishing so hard for someone to help her.
The fucking "humane" society put her down, because she was a "pest." That was their "reasoning."
They COULD HAVE fixed her up; they'd done it before, but with birds that weren't called "pests." Fuck them.
There was a duck around here years ago who was missing a leg... he was an awesome bird. He was healthy otherwise. :) Friendly, too.
D; THATS SO SAD D; do you know if it lived?
AWW I LOVE DUCKS. OWO (It's a bit on the obsessive side)
I hope you guys manage to save him!
Oh no, I hope you see it again and are able to help it. Good on you for taking action though, most people probably wouldn't care that much when they should.
Lol I thought you were insulting the duck with the title xDD
