I've read that after waiting some time, it's possible to remove expired snowballs for free. Is this true, or is that just an old feature? And about how long do you have to wait? I already know of the Hairdryer of Melty, also. Thanks. :)

Mine melted within ten minutes. I don't think they last very long in the summer, apparently.

EDIT: Nevermind. Apparently it took over fifteen minutes for the Cache to catch up and actually show them.

Same here, I was pelted about 30 minutes ago and they still haven't shown up, I believe. :P Hmm... I'm wondering if an event comes up telling you that the snowballs expired and you can remove them.

Nah, they just melt away. I think it's only an hour or two.
