So I just got my hair dyed professionally last night. I got it really dark brown (permanent dye) but when I showered today and toweled off my hair a little of the dye leaked onto the towel. Haven't gotten my hair dyed in forever so I don't even remember but is this normal? Does dye, even if permanent, wash out a little the first time you shower? Or is it possible this was a bad dye job or shitty dye?

The person I got my hair dyed by was someone who I used to get my hair cut by until I was like 17 and realized she sucked at cutting my hair even. She was good at dying (I thought) back then and it was cheap so I decided to go back now, like.. 3 years later. I never noticed anything bad about her dying before so I just don't know if I forgot it washes out a bit or if maybe she just did a bad job...

Yes -- dye does wash out a bit for a few days after the shower even if it's "permanent". If it keeps on washing out after 2 weeks though you might want to recheck the dye that was used o:

Yup. Hair dye, permanent, or semi-permanent, washes out with the first wash after being dyed. If you want the hair color to last, though, use a color shampoo. c:

You're good! It'll come out and may or may not stain clothing and pillows, so just be careful. I'd advise not using a shampoo/conditioner combo (use shampoo and conditioner separately) for the first two weeks or so.

When I dyed my hair super red I was told to wash it in cold water the first while to stop the color from leaking out. So, I recommend using a really nice color shampoo, cold water, and only wash it when you need to. Also, the color can stain on clothes, pillows, or whatever else you touch with your hair after the shower- so be careful!

But yeah, it's normal.

I got your back Jack, bitches be crazy.

Ooh yes, as said, cold water is good at first, mostly for reds or blacks. c:
