Very sad tale.

Warning, graphic images of the dog's injuries may bother some people.

Oh bless her soul, she seems such a sweet dog as well... :( I'm glad she's getting the surgery that she needs, no dog deserves to be injured like that. Poor thing.

Aaaaand this proves that I truly do get more emotional over animals than people.

oh my God she is so precious I really really really would love to hear that the surgery is successful. I'm so thankful both her eyes are intact.

The doctors have no plans of making a prosthetic snout or replacing the dog&;s jaw, US media reported the hospital as saying.

ugh. That's not cool though. Poor thing won't ever be able to eat solid foods again.

Good lord that's a horrific injury, it is hard to imagine how the poor thing is alive after having that happen or how she's going to be able to live without at least a prosthetic. I mean her tongue is going to get so cracked and dry I would think. And she's probably going to have breathing difficulties, not to mention a hard time smelling things which is a great disability for a dog. This really is a tragic story.

...Why is a dog who was involved in a vehicle accident named "kabang" though? >_>

Yeah, I was optimistic when they were talking about flying her to the USA for surgery and thought, "Oh yay, they're going to fix her jaw!" but then saw that last part and was incredibly dispirited.

My thought exactly. I just want to reverse time and push the poor puppy out of the way to restore her beautiful face. =[

I did not even think of that nor see the connection there before! I must admit I laughed rather loudly and then felt terrible for doing so. >_>

Yeah I read the article all the way through before noticing and then it was just sort of darkly ironic. If that was her name before the accident then that's a weird coincidence, but if that became her name after.... that's like naming a dog that's been shot Bullet.

I'm pretty sure it's a Filipino word.

What a sweet dog though, it's really nice of them to have raised money to get her fixed up.

...Wait. WHY are they not giving her a prosthetic jaw, but sending her to the US for surgery? That makes absolutely zero sense, since the dog is going to have a hard time eating without her top jaw...

Oh my god, I wouldn't believe it if it weren't for the video. That poor baby. How the hell can it just be left like that?

oh my god. this is so sad, especially because for dogs their snout is more important than our right arm would be to us. they literally use it for everything. at least she's getting the care she deserves though. :unheart:

That poor, poor dog. At least she survived the accident. How come they are not going to replace the snout? She'll never have the same quality of life as a normal dog without her natural snout, but at least with a prosthetic snout she'd be able to eat and have a better quality of life than she has now.

That injury was much worse than I had imagined. What a sweet, heroic dog though, I hope she receives the best care possible.
