In order to get an achievement that requires a certain number of an item in your wardrobe, do you have to be able to go into your wardrobe to get it?

i don;t follow your question exactly you can only have 1 of each item in your wardrobe

However if you mean layers as in 50 in finger layer, then you need 50 unique items that are on the finger layer go to your wardrobe see the layer. Go somewhere else (your inventory for example) and you should get the achievement.
