Sorry i couldn't figure out where to put this but I am TERRIBLE at Geometry and I somehow have to get a 90 average just to pass. I am not going to be able to do this on my own because even with tutoring, geometry books, and formula charts I still am hopelessly terrible at it. So if you help me out I can give you a reward~ I'm not asking for just answers I want to know what formulas you used to get the answer as well. This is the current worksheet I need help on ~Rewards include: WL items, sP, and maybe even a small amount of CSC
:)
Well, for the first task it's all about Pythagoras (a²+b²=c²). that is an easy one to calculate :o The second one looks like Pythagoras again. For 3.a) I'm not sure, haven't done that for some time lol, but for b) you can easily take the hypotenuse that you calc. in 2 and subtract the result of 3.a) :3 And 4 is P. again. Only that you have to take the 9 miles and the value for 3.a).
Edit: Ok, to get 3.a) you need to use the cos(β)= q/a = a/c. with q = distance 2nd buoy - start, a = 9miles, c= result of 2, and β being the opposite angle to 12 miles at the start corner. Then you can calc: a/c = cos (β) => q= cos (β)*a
