How do I get rid of this? Can I not use a different forum title until it is gone?

Your automatic forum title changes when you get more posts on your post count. You also get stars too ^^

So I have to be social. Great. Do you know what amount I need to get so I can change my title?

You can also accomplish certain achievements that will get you special titles, though they do take a bit of work sometimes. :)

I have titles I have earned from achievements already. I am asking if I have to get rid of the Newbie thing before I can use them.

Since you have the forum title of "Gets Around" at the moment, I don't think you do? Nor do I see any 'newbie' thing around.

Personal > Site Preferences > Forum Options > Change Forum Title. :)

I did that but it still says newbie on the forum. I feel really stupid. lol.

It says "gets around" for me too, so you don't have the newbie title anymore. :p Maybe try refreshing a few times and it'll show up for you.

I changed it to Get's Around but I still see newbie. Oh well at least that is not what everyone else sees.

You need to go to your User Options and make sure you have 'Show Full Forums' set to Enable. This is why all you can see is the default for everybody, instead of seeing that 's title is 'Gets Around' or that 's title is 'Is A Survivor'.
