Yeah cc... it's bad.

I'm sick so today has been one heck of a blonde moment.

I mixed up a batter for Chocolate cake as usual and it tasted good!

I greased the pan like I would normally do except the pan was not a cake pan... it was a bread pan.

So now I have chocolate bread basically. I'm still gonna frost it and give it to my friend but argh! Blonde moment!!!!

So cc, any cake making fails to make me feel a bit better?

Oh and my stepdad laughed.... hard.

I was wondering why there was a ton of cake mix left in the bowl... but i kind of shrugged and ate the rest.

[edit]

The reason its a fail is because I was trying to prove to my stepdad that i can cook. Now all that I have proved is that I can't tell a cake pan froma bread pan

Ahahah! That sounds awesome. I'm sure it still tastes delicious though :p

I was making cookies with a friend of mine, and since she's good at baking I assumed she was able to put all the ingredients in correctly...I was wrong. Somehow she missed a cup of flour; the recipe called for 2 1/2 cups, and our cookies came out as...not cookies. I don't know what they were, but they still tasted okay.

How is that a fail? It's still chocolate and still relatively cake. Just in a bread shape. o.o;

Just sounds like you made a small cake. I wouldn't exactly call it a fail since it's not really chocolate bread. It'll still be a cake and cake consistency even if you put it in a smaller pan.

Its a fail bc it was supposed to be a cake... idk. I wanted to prove to my stepdad that I can cook and I've just proved that I can't tell a cake pan from a bread pan.

But i agree with you. Either way its chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and sprinkles.

-love the name btw-

Ha! I've done that before! I made like 6 batches of sugar cookies around christmas time and during one batch I forgot the flower. They tasted nasty!

Just a smaller cake. :P You didn't fail. Ffs, you even got the extra batter, right? Win/win, imo.

I don't like vanilla anything really.

Chocolate cake and cream cheese frosting... hmm... I suppose that could work though...

I tried baking cookies from scratch. I either added too much or not enough, can't remember, to the batter. When I took them out of the oven I had this really flat-ass cake like... thing. I mean it was honestly paper thin. It didn't really taste like cookies either (they were supposed to be oatmeal raisin) but still ended up tasting pretty darn good haha.

Hmmm im the same way with chocolate.

Yeah I should buy cream cheese frosting next time. I love that stuff.

I like making thin cookies and putting frosting on them.

I made sugar cookie "chips" one time and my friends ate them all and begged me to make more. I brought a tub of frosting and they dipped the cookies in the frosting like chips and dip

My intention was to make a nice thick batch of cookies XD

BUTOMG. Sugar cookie chips sound so freaking yummy.

Edit:

Cream Cheese on Red Velvet Cake IS THE BEST EVAR.

Its so easy. Just make normal sugar cookie batter and spread it thin on a baking sheet/ cookie sheet. It takes about 3-4 minutes for each batch. Be careful not to burn them. Burnt sugar cookies SUCK. Oh and spread a thin layer of sugar before you bake.

depends on the red velvet recipe.

I've made some pretty crappy red velvet cake and some wicked good, melt in your mouth red velvet cake. It depends on the batter, recipe, and who bakes it. I swear each baker has a different touch. I tend to burn things but my friend's mom makes the BEST cake.

Whichever. Its easier to score it with a pizza cutter before you bake but if you want random shapes, break it afterwards

I mustn't be investing in the good kind then. Hrm.

Huh... I need to find this good red velvet cake then because every time it's brought up, I hear about this awesome, nommable cake and all I've ever had of it is tasteless/gritty/dry stuff.
