If you're a fan of Veronica Mars, you should know that they have started a Kickstarter today to fund the production of the movie!!

I just pledged $50 to it (I'm going to get a free DVD of the movie, if it happens!).

They have a VERY ambitious goal, it's the biggest Kickstarter EVER, at 2mil! But, so far the pledges are going strong. Last I looked it was over 700k!

I know, I haven't closed the Kickstarter page all day; I just keep watching the numbers climb and being torn between laughing and crying! This is all kind of groundbreaking and awesome. I just keep thinking of other shows that wanted movies, and could probably get them with this new form of backing!

why are they making a movie?

They made it yay! Yessss.

Because the show didn't get closure. They've wanted to do a movie for years.

Yeah, they've wanted to make a movie for six years, but Warner Bros. kept saying that there was no audience for it, so they wouldn't back it. Finally Rob Thomas (the creator) went to them and asked if he could try a Kickstarter to get the fans to back the movie. WB said sure, but they thought it would fail. They've already made their goal of 2mil just today, and there are still 29 days left to donate more money. ^_^

I am so excited about this, you have no idea. I may have shed a few actual tears because of all this. lol

I know, I'm going to be a mess when the movie actually comes out! The best part is, my fiance has finally agreed to watch the show. I know he'll love it, because he's a HUGE fan of noir, and strong female characters. He just kept saying that it was probably bad because it was on UPN. Oh how he will EAT HIS WORDS!!! lol

No problem. It's really cool that they're doing this, for the fans. Rob and all the actors aren't going to be making much money off this at all. But, they love us so much (and those characters) that they want to give the show a proper finale.

I just hope Logan and Veronica end up together.

Oh he will SO eat his words. He will love it! I haven't met anyone who doesn't love it. I want LoVe to happen too. I saw they're bringing back Piz, and while I don't HATE him I don't think of him as necessary, sigh. They better have my bb Wallace in the movie.

, I feel the same about Piz. I want Wallace, Mac, and Weevil (outside of Veronica, Logan, and Keith) those are my other top 3. I read Rob wants it to be a high school reunion, so who knows who he wants to bring back. I wonder if they would touch on what Duncan is doing with baby Lilly?? There is just so much I want to see in this movie, and at the same time, I have no clue what they'll do! In the end, I just want LoVe. XD

Your top six are mine too!! I think most fans would agree :3. I don't care one bit about Duncan though, I kinda hate him oops. But I could get behind ghost Lily! And of course Dick will be in it, I like Dick for comedic relief. But yes Mac is necessary as V's only girl friend. Poor thing can't keep girl friends :(.

They broke the kickstarter record for fastest million dollars contributed, and fastest 2 million. They reached their 2 million dollar goal in 10 hours.

And the irony in this? Warner Brothers cancelled Veronica Mars because they said fans would never spend money on DVDs and other merchandise for the show. I wonder if the people who told the higher ups this got fired over this.

The show was good, as far as I can remember! It would be super cool to see this actually happen! :D

Sorry it took me so long to respond, I've been distracted by a sore tooth and an exam. But yeah, I'm not a Duncan fan, but I would be curious to see what happened to the baby.

Me, too! I sat there the whole day watching the Kickstarter and spazzing about it on my tumblr. I'm so excited that it broke so many records, and proved that we fans do care.

You should re-watch it! I actually just re-watched the whole thing last month, and now I'm watching it again because I convinced my fiance to give it a shot (and no he's hooked). And, as far as everything is going right now the movie is a sure thing! :)

That happened a lot with my fiance. "Hey, you should watch this!" "No. It looks stupid." convinces him to watch it. "OH GOSH, LETS WATCH ANOTHER EPISODE!"

Hahah. (: Yeah, I will have to re-watch it. It has definitely been awhile.

I loved this tv show! They raised money for the movie so quickly, I hope it'll do the show justice! ;u;
