old thread, ignore So! I'm looking for someone with a good deal of experience in drawing detailed backgrounds that are definitely not lacking in misc clutter and have some slightly strange items. I may be looking to commission more than just one image in the future ( it would be nice if, when you post, you do background commissions with some sort of frequency as it would be nice to get into contact with you in the future if I want similar art for the pet ), but for right now what I'm looking for is something like the following;

I have a pet by the current name of Diction. As you can see, he lacks anything but a TC to give him any sort of depth! This will be for him. I have plenty of details I can give you on the male, so make sure to ask if you feel the need! What I'm looking for is intricately tied with his personality.

Anyway, onto what I'm looking for specifically;

I'm looking for a shop sort of picture. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves with various different books lining them, as well as misc items ( like music boxes, and random things you'd see in Diction's treasure chest ), weapon racks with items like in his TC, and so on. Maybe a few expertly hidden 'creature'-looking things in shadows, barely visible but definitely there ( with perhaps a clearer image, as I MAY want to have it more visible upon a mouseover once I code up the profile - but this is NOT required AT ALL ). Counters with more items, and a door leading to a 'back of the store' type area.

If you think you can manage something extremely cluttery and full of subeta-esque items placed here and there ( as Diction is very much a part of Subeta, unless a role play with him calls for something slightly more AU/modern day, etc ) - post a comment.

Hello, I'm not sure if you're still buying but I have a usd slot open on my art thread. There are lots of example images there with click-able thumbnails for your to view. The last pet profile layout type thing I did was this monster. Depending on what you'd like, prices vary but you're welcome to take a peek and let me know if anything interests you. Otherwise, I hope you find what you're looking for ^^

Am I missing any section that's more.. background-only oriented, or? I'm not sure how you would price something like what I'm requesting. I've seen your examples before and I do like them, and I definitely think your style suits the overall style I would enjoy the profile having - I think you may also be able to deliver the kind of detail that I'd like to see in the profile.

I'm willing to offer around 15-20$ USD for what I'm asking; more depending on how big, how detailed, and how many misc subeta items end up in it ( and other little details, etc, etc ).

Hm well I don't really have a section that's strictly for backgrounds. I charge by the drawing/coloring style (ie painterly or cellshade) so it would be the same price as a fullbody for either coloring style I'd suppose. The drawing I linked you to is probably the closest I have to doing a background image and that one was done for $16. I'll toss in however many items you like if you have specific ones that you want and could make it about 2000px x 1500px like the last profile type art I've done (unless you have a specific size you'd like it as well)?

Something like that sounds fine, size wise and price wise.

Any sort of format you're looking for me to fill out and give to you? I'm intending to do a sort of.. basic layout image for how I'd like the shop to look ( which you can fudge on here and there if you feel something else would work better, but just as an overall idea for the background ).

Well your description seems pretty clear on what you want so unless there's some really specific items you want in there, I can just start into it and give you a rough sketch so you can give your opinion on the overall look before the details go in. I'd say that's the best way to go about it

It's.. really not all that specific. Although, yes, there are a few details that I've given you for the general idea of the store/what sort of things are in it, there's a specific placement I want for certain things. The bookshelves, the counters, the display cases, etc. Although I really suck and am not artistically inclined, this is sort of what I'm looking for. The rectangular things at the forefront of the store = display cases for misc items; you can pick what you'd like from Diction's TC ( or just throw random, interesting things in there ). The circular items are more display cases, but should be for weapons. And behind each of those weapon cases should be bookshelves, which do not quite touch the ceiling?

The walls that are just 'shelving', are just that; however these are floor to ceiling bookcases. Items should be drawn amongst the books, either propping them up or randomly placed. On the desk to the far right of the image, the top should be flat and solid, while the area beneath it should be like your typical display case, filled with misc items.

I guess beyond this general layout, it's free game for sketching. x: Sorry, I really hope you don't mind me being this picky/specific.

As far as perspective, do you want it to look that way (like an overhead view), or would you prefer something frontal like you're just walking in to the shop? And thank you for that sketch, it actually is really helpful!

Whatever you think looks best for the view.That was the only sort of POV that I could go with when it came to where I wanted things to be positioned.. OTL

It'd be OK if it's from the POV of someone walking into the store, or standing in the corner-ish type area that's on the outside of the register ( sort of in the area where there's not really anything placed? ). But, honestly, whatever works best for you is fine.

Alright I'm still looking through some references. I'll ping you back with a sketch once I have something to show and you can let me know what you think.

Sounds good, something like that would likely work out quite well! Thank you very much, I look forward to seeing the sketch.

How is this sketch looking? P: I don't know how I feel about it. I'm feeling like this doesn't look like your set up at all, but give me some feedback when you can?

@ Luca

Really.. Not what I had pictured at all, and it really doesn't look like what I wanted.

I really don't know what sort of feedback I can give you when it looks like you've gone with the most detail-lacking wall ( read: the wall on which there is absolutely nothing happening, when I thought it was pretty clear that I wanted a view of the room that contained what I had laid out in the image? ).

I like the items in the shelving, I guess.. but I'm not really into the shelving itself. When I say floor to ceiling, I mean exactly that. The highest shelf should hold things that touch the ceiling. It shouldn't be particularly fancy, because Diction isn't really a fancy guy. Something slightly older looking and more 'this isn't a shop that someone spent lots of money designing, this is a shop full of awkwardly made shelves that are meant to hold the items ( which are the most important part of the shop ), not look nice'. I mean, they can look nice, but that's not their main purpose/function?

Sorry, I feel what I'm saying is really rude but I don't know how to word things any better. OTL

Edit: OK HI. Sorry for being so derp and lacking in anything similar to skill with drawing, but if you could do something in the general layout of this as a really basic sketch, just of the placement of various things and whatnot ( I mean a REALLY basic sketch, just some lines for the general POV/placement of stuff? so I could sort of point here and there and be like, OK in these areas.. [details] ) from either the POV of.. kinda how it looks, or the pink person looking into the store like that - I would really appreciate it.

A..and I'm aware that I really suck at perspective. SORRY.

I'm really wanting more of the room, as if someone were stepped really far back away from it all/just walking in, not already exploring. But if you want to do something closer up I guess I can make do. That is fine.

Edit; Are you still interested in this? I've not heard anything back from you.
