O Yard sales. How I adore thee. But o, yard sales, how I hate preparing for one ...

My sister, brother and I are planning on throwing a yard sale next weekend. I'm clearing out nearly 90% of my VHS and CD collections, so spending today saving all the CD's I will be selling to the laptop. Then one day my sister will come over and go through my shed w/ me and take all the "masculine" baby clothes she wants, then we catalog and price her things she's selling, plus my things I'm selling (besides baby clothes) ... then on Wed my brother and his wife are coming to pick through the "feminine" baby clothes (They have babies a month apart) and cataloging and sorting their things, plus the rest of mine.

The children that can walk (10, 5 and 3) will be having a lemonade stand w/ the grownups, and one day they'll have to all come over ot make the lemonade and prep/set up / sort the tables of items... and FIND tables, for that matter. Right now it's looking like boards across Tupperware tubs.

But hey, if I make $20, I'll be happy ...

Ever thrown a yard sale ? How much prep work did you do ? How much did you make ? Want a bunch of CD's n tapes n size 10 pants ? :D

I would LOVE to have a yard sale before I move in a few months, but because I live in a cruddy apartment, I don't actually have a yard to do so. Bah.

I've helped with a community yard sale with my grandma (she has SO MUCH stuff, filling up her house and basement and garage and attic -- it'll be completely and utterly insane going through her stuff after she passes away), but I haven't thrown one of my own. I usually sell stuff on eBay if there's something I want to part with. My most recent partings with were some Star Wars and Star Trek collectibles I acquired over the years. One of my Megabloks kits sold for $60 on eBay. I paid $7 for it on clearance at K-Mart years ago. :D

I haven't had a yard sale in like....4 years? xD; I think they are fun though, but I never go to any/have any.

When we had the yard sale 4 years aog, I think we just threw stuff together the morning it happened. Our neighbors were having one, then another house decided to have one, and we joined in. So it became a cul de sac yard sale :p

_ <-- i have no idea what that face is but i use it all the time anyways.

My family is having one this coming month. I get 10% profits of whatever my dad makes, who usually makes the most, plus whatever I sell. Every penny I make I'm using on Subeta xD

i don't think we do yard sales in the uk. we have 'car boot sales' though, where you go to a big car park/market and set up a small stall well you can sell things second hand - kind of like, multiple yard sales in one place, haha.

i don't have enough items gathered (that i no longer want) that i could sell yet, though i have been alive sixteen years x:

I am getting rid of it looks like at least 75% of my audio, that includes CD's DVD's and VHS tapes (except for like homemade ones)

Then it's on to clothes and IF I can bear it, books.
