I'm almost done with season 6 and I've been trying to decide who my favorite doctor/companion is.
I'm pretty sure my favorite doctor is Ten, (I've loved David Tennant since I saw him in Harry Potter) and as for my favorite companion, that's what I'm really undecided on. I really really loved Rose, but I also love the Amy & Rory combo. Donna was amazingly sassy too. But I kinda also love Craig, even though he was never technically a companion :p
What do you guys think? I'm curious :)

when I first watched the show, rose was my ultimate fav and i hated martha grew to love donna felt indifferent about the ponds and grew tired of clara (you'll get to her)
however, after i had time to recover from the heartache dw caused me i realized how rose got her happy ending martha was all in all fantastic donna was a perfect platonic bff the ponds had their moments and clara...is still tiring =3=

I'm excited for Clara actually, I saw her in the 50th anniversary special & I thought she was adorable :) so it should be interesting. I also hated Donna at first too, I hated all the sass and it got annoying, but in the end I loved her as well. The show is just so addicting :) Are you excited about the twelfth doctor?

That's awesome :) I haven't seen him in much so I'm not sure how I feel about him just yet. I saw him in World War Z but I didn't know he was slated to be the next doctor at the time, so I didn't pay much attention to him :/ I'm excited for the next season though, I'll feel like a real whovian cause I'll finally be caught up :p

Ten is my doctor. <3 He was the doctor in the first episode I ever watched, so he's got a special place in my heart. I looove Nine though. He was great. My favorite companion is a tie between Rose and Donna. Both of them were fantastic in their own ways. I never liked Martha either, and I still don't. She was a valuable companion, but I just can't stand her personality. Idk why. Not a huge Clara fan either. She's cute, but she's a bit off-putting for me.
Craig is amazing. I hope we get to see more of him, and Stormageddon, in future episodes. He and the Doctor together are so funny, but I'm not sure if they'd bring him back again after 11 regenerates. My favorite one-time companion is Astrid, though. From the Voyage of the Damned episode. Ahhh, how I wish she could have been a long term companion. ;_;
Obsessive whovian! Nobody else seems to know anything about the classic series, but my favorite Doctors were the fourth and fifth. The fourth is the one with the long scarf, and the fifth has the cricket outfit with a stick of celery on his lapel, if that rings a bell... I like a lot of companions: Peri, Tegan, and Sarah Jane amongst my favorites. However, I absolutely hate Clara, River, and Amy... I'm sorry if you like them, but I think they're sort of cookie-cutter characters. They all have the same basic personality, y'know? Every girl character in Moffat's era acts the same. My favorite modern Doctor is the tenth, though. He's just so... well, likable. Plus, he shares a lot of similarities with the Fifth Doctor.

When I first started watching Doctor Who, I loved Rose. She was my favorite up until Donna came into the picture. Then I started season 5...and just fell in love with the 11th doctor, and fell in love with both Amy and Rory. I like Clara, and she's somewhat a favorite. I suppose there isn't really any companion that I hate or dislike. But I would have to say Amy and Rory were my favorite.
And the Christmas special is in a few days...goodbye heart.
(Four is a favorite, I love the scarf -- My dad has one my grandmother knitted him before it became a major fandom I suppose xD )
I just finished watching the Doctor Who Christmas Special, and I don't wish to spoil anything but I think Capaldi is promising. Needless to say however Moffat hurt me right in the feels on Christmas no less. The special was absolutely fantastic in my opinion.
I couldn't ever get use to Martha, I did enjoy Rose to a degree though I loved her in the 50th. Donna was an Eh for me, and I absolutely adored Amy and Rory, and I really enjoy Clara's inquisitive, daring and adventurous curiosity. I loved Tennant and Eccleston during their period and I've enjoyed Smith just as equally and my feels are still crushed (ThankyouMoffat) I'm super excited for Capaldi after his first few lines in the Christmas special, just. yes xD

I watched it, too. I was nearly in tears- and not because Matt Smith is gone, because we only got to see thirty seconds of Capaldi. He's officially the current Doctor (YESSS), but we only have half a minute of footage of him until August. AUGUST. I freaked out when the Eleventh Doctor came up the TARDIS stairs and I thought it was Capaldi in his Doctor outfit, but it looks like we might not see what he'll wear as the Doctor for eight months.
P.S. I heard Moffat is actually planning on explaining Frobisher (Torchwood) and Caecilius (The Fires of Pompeii). I'm wondering if it'll be a Romana-Astra type thing or if they're both really the Doctor. Either way, it's sort of strange.

OMG. DON'T REMIND ME THAT IT DOESN'T COME BACK UNTIL AUGUST. At least this gives me time to watch the classic DW episodes. I started watching with 9, haven't seen any of the older doctors but once I reactivate Netflix I plan on watching the older episodes that are available.
I used to think 10 was my favorite Doctor but eleven grew on me so much. I don't know which I favor anymore. Rose and Donna are tied for my favorite companions. OMG, IF CRAIG COUNTS HE'S MY FAVORITE COMPANION THOUGH.
My parents actually just bought me the 4th Doctor's scarf for Christmas today! I nearly screamed when I opened up the package. It's not as a long as the original though; it's a much more practical length. haha
Christmas Special Spoilers and Thoughts
I'm glad they addressed the 12 regeneration limit, and I'm glad that they didn't really specify how many the Doctor's got now. All we know is that he's got some extras now, and it works for the foreseeable future, so that's awesome!
My heart aches for Eleven though. It was so awfully sad to watch him grow old like that. </3 When the Cyberman head died, I was crushed. It had been his friend for 300 years! Wow. D':
I really hope he remembers to patch that phone back into the TARDIS console though because hanging out the door like that is dangerous. lol
I've been excited for Capaldi ever since he was announced. I can't believe he got so little screen time, and now we have to wait sooooo long. I just want to get to know him already, god dammit! xD

OMG I CRIED SO HARD. Including at the cyberman head's death. It was like Castaway with Wilson...
When I really lost it was when he took off his bow tie. It was the moment that it really sank in that Eleven's time was over...

When he dropped the bow tie, my breath like caught in my throat. I was like, "wow, who knew a bow tie falling on the floor could be so powerful." That whole scene, with Amy, and the Doctor's little speech, and the bow tie, and... ugh. That whole scene just really got me.

I want Jack to come back, too. John Barrowman has said he wants to go back to Doctor Who, so it's possible. :)

So glad I wasn't the only one. I don't think I have either, tbh.
Of the entire episode, that was probably one of my favorite scenes. It was perfect. I didn't think I would cry as much as I did, especially during that one simple little snippet.
I DVR'd in addition to watching it during it's air time on BBC America so I'll probably end up rewatching tomorrow or Friday.
Love Doctor Who. My brother bought me a TARDIS cookie jar for Christmas. It lights up and makes the "vworp vworp" sound. :3
There's so much ground to cover in this fandom. Just the other day I watched "The Stones of Blood." It's a Fourth Doctor serial with Romana I as the companion (Tom Baker and Mary Tam, respectively). It was so deliciously cheesy. I love the classic episodes. <3
As for the revived series, I've liked all three of the Doctors so far. I'm excited to see what Capaldi will bring to the table. Also interested to know what color his kidneys are. lol ;)
I definitely did love Rose as well. She was a very real character, with personality flaws that the show was not afraid the point out. I felt like she could have been any of the girls I knew growing up. Oh and I also helps that when I first started watching Doctor Who I was working in retail, just like Rose was when she met The Doctor! lol
But yeah, loved Martha as well. Best companion exit of the revived series. Totally need more companions choosing to walk away instead of being all, "Oh Doctor I will stay with you foreverz!" que tragic ending There was so much more of this in the Classic series. Not that it's a good or bad thing, but it's starting to get repetitive. I hope Clara ups and decides to leave instead of having yet another tragedy befall her. crosses fingers
Not to say that I want her to leave! No! I actually really like Clara. I was getting tired of the Ponds and River. Toward the end there I felt like Moffat was just dragging them on with no idea what he wanted to do with them. :/
Oh and then back tracking to Donna. She was the absolute best. <3
Chris was my first Doctor, though David is my favorite. Donna is my favorite companion by far, I absolutely loved her relationship with the Doctor. She took no shit from him at all, haha. XD
I like Martha also and I loved that her and Mickey got together in the end. I really wasn't fond of Amy and I'm still really 'meh' with Clara, though I am super excited to see how Peter handles the Doctor.
