TL;DR Father starts building tree house for daughter's birthday...City of Selinsgrove board members have heads up asses and order him to tear it down.
Is the tree house so big it hangs into another lot ? That's the only reason I could see for the zoning morons to object to it. Other than that, they're being a bunch of petty asstards.
collecting I hate this mentality that other people can tell you what you can and can't do on your own property. It's just ridiculous that these people can't even have a treehouse for their kid without having to go to court about it.
Was the tree house hurting anyone? No. People just love to cause misery it seems. :/
At the risk of receiving a lot of disapproving remarks for this, I actually don't think there's anything wrong with what the council are doing.
If it was in the back of the property, I don't think there would be any issue, but there are very few approved building projects that are allowed to take place in a front yard, and from the looks of things, the massive tree was chopped down so that they could use it as a stump. Surely a skilled carpenter like this girl's father should be able to make a stable base for his daughter's cubby in the back of the property away from the streetscape?
Constructions in the front of a property devalue the properties surrounding it, so it does impact on the neighbours.
I see nothing wrong with that tree house. heck i never had one and these people wanna talk this 11year olds first tree house away cause it violates zoning law? Its a small tree house, not very high off the ground and no where near the edges of the lot. Its in the middle and seems perfectly fine to me, people can be bullies even if they are middle aged or less. Ive seen plenty of tree houses and other projects in the front lawns of some houses and they never seem to be a problem. But for some reason this one is sigh
