I adopted a pet with a unusual name from the pound. However I'm worried on his name since it's in different font or a odd symbol ( his name is £ ). I'm not aware if there's anything against having a pet with a name like that but I don't want to get in trouble. Is it fine to keep him as is or would there be consequences in doing so?

If the original owner does see this also I do apologize, I really like his name I just want to make fully sure it's ok.

I filed a ticket about special characters in pet names a few days ago, and still have not received an answer. :| Just a little FYI about the situation...

Pets were made with unique characters years ago and are still around. I'm sure if it was a issue they'd have asked people to rename those pets (in cases where a pet name change is a must they let you have it free) and then disabled that ability when naming pets. And since your pet is a fairly recent pet in comparison I am sure its ok

The admn that responded to my ticket said that she thought that it was changed that you shouldn't be able to name pets with those actually.

However she was going to check to see if it was changed again or if it was a glitch before giveing me a answer on what I need to do ( if anything)

I was told the name needed to be changed because it is an invalid character that shouldn't have been accepted and the name will cause issues on the site.

If you have a pet with a symbol in the name. Please file a ticket and speak to a staff member on the matter. This will now be locked.
