so i think im going to WONDERLAND soon. i rly want to ride the behemoth (i still dont really know how to pronounce that irl)
but i literally CANT ride spinny rides. every time i do, i feel like my head is going to explode. does anyone have any tips to prevent this? like idk, motion sickness pills or something? does that even work?
a friend on mine said you should keep your eyes on one thing, like dancers do when they twirl around to prevent getting dizzy. and i saw on tv that eating ginger before going on a ride helps? i dont know, i kind of have a hard time believing those things. i dont want to ride something, then feel like im going to puke for the rest of the day. its a waste of $40 D:
anyway, yeah. let us discuss theme parks. ones youve gone to. favorites. various rides. roller coasters. spinny rides. love/hate. etc etc. DISCUSS!
[edit]EUGHHHH, fucking ampersands ruining my title >:O
Oh god just watching that made me want to hurl. It's so high up. ._. I enjoy spinny rides like tilt-a-whirls and scrambled eggs type things, and pirate ships. I'm a boring amusement park person because I'm really not big on rides.
I've not been to many amusement parks. Disneyworld, Six Flags, uh.. and Kennywood, which is local and really not my favorite. :P
Ah, -jealous- I want to go! That ride looks like so much fun!
I like Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion. At Kings Dominion, I like Hyper Sonic. :D Good ride, it's so fast that the entire ride is 14 seconds. XD (It's not a very long ride in the base case...but whatever) At Busch Gardens I like Apollo's Chariot, (sp?) Alpengeist, and Griffin. (front row in all)
I LOVE roller coasters. :P
Hey, another Canuck from near Wonderland :P
I haven't been there since Behemoth was installed a couple years ago, so my favorite ride there is still the Mighty Canadian Minebuster.
I can't go on rides that just sit and spin either, I get migraines and they tend to trigger them. Looping coasters are fine, but something like Shockwave is going to kill me. Ginger does help a bit, and if you find yourself on a ride and feeling sick to your stomach, lean back, close your eyes and take slow, deep breaths. Try not to focus on the motion of the ride, just try to calm yourself down and keep taking deep breaths slow and steady. That's all that stopped my little sister from puking all over my mother on Soloco way back in the day
I hate Wonderland because whenever I go, my friends try to make me ride Behemoth, and I can't because I get dizzy really easily. My friends explained that it goes somewhere over 100mph, but it's not a long ride. It's maybe 3 minutes max. And they rode it in a hailstorm in June. However... when we went to Marineland as part of our 3 day trip to Niagara Falls, I rode in the spinny cups with 3 of my friends. It was pretty fun, I got used to the spinning after awhile cause I was laughing at my friend, who was trying to text someone (to see if he could do it. he couldn't). If you go on the Behemoth, go on with a good friend and have fun together, talk together... that's what makes you distracted.

That ride looks really fun :D
I don't know about a way to prevent getting dizzy/sick on any ride :-( I kinda always loved the rush that I got on roller coasters, and I anticipated the icky sick feeling.
It makes it more exciting in my opinion :D
If I think a ride will make me sick, (which I do a lot, even though I never get sick) I usually take some anti-nausea medicine and wait. Then when I get off really spinny rides I'm dizzy as hell, but I don't have any nausea. : D
Speaking of rides I love, the mega drop. Omg that ride is just amazing. ❤ It's weird though because I'm afraid of heights, but I'm in love with that ride.
Oh that looks like fun. I'll go on just about any type of ride, though it took me a while to work up the nerve to go on free-fall type rides.
I haven't been to many amusement parks I guess: Disney in Florida, Great Adventure (Six Flags), Dorney Park and Hershey Park (the last two are in Pennsylvania). I guess also the amusement piers at the New Jersey shore. I've been to a few others, but I was too young to go on any interesting rides, so they don't count =P
My favorite roller coaster was one called Medusa - I can't really say why. I think Six Flags tore it down to make a new one for this season though. Oh wait, they just renamed it, yay.
I used to go to Wonderland every year when I was younger because my dad got cheap tickers through work xD I think I'm going with friends sometime soon though!
Do you live close to it?

yeah, i think im going to take the medication route. it just seems to make the most sense to me.
oh man, i was at six flags last year. we went to ride the medusa close to when the park was closing, so there was no one in the line. so we kept riding it over and over. but they made us walk all the way around every time which was SO dumb because its a really long walk D:
yeah, i live in toronto/north york. my brothers getting a discount from work too haha.
i think the last time i was in wonderland, i was really young. i only remember going on the vortex because it hurt my back rly bad D:
