Apparently a cell phone call to the police comes back to my address. I didn't make the call, my sister didn't make the call, everybody else in the house is asleep. She read back the number to us and it didn't belong to either of us or anyone that we know. That's kind of strange. I wonder how it ended up being from my address?
Anybody else ever have this happen, or have any weird police stories?

Once when I was about 2 years old, I was alone with my dad. He was fixing me lunch and he had me sit down and play with the dogs. There was a knock on the door and it was a state cop saying someone called 911 and hung up. He looked where was supposed to be and said, "I'm missing a 2 year old." I was sitting on my parents bedroom floor playing with the phone with one of the dogs watching me. Thankfully the cop had a sense of humor and told my dad to be more careful.
Oh god, I had the same incident as you. It was so irritating because they kept coming back for about a week. It scared me so badly when it was starting to get dark and a big buff guy knocks damn hard on your door!
That's odd, maybe the phone number was from someone who had lived at your house previously (or used a fake address)?
Similar story that happened to my family. We had just gotten a new phone service at our new house and the last 3 digits of our phone number were 911. Whenever we would call our voicemail or call out, for some reason it would call the police and immediately hang up. They came to our house and made everyone come outside because someone had been repeatedly calling and hanging up several times that day and they wanted to check on everyone in the house. Unfortunately... I was sick as a dog OF COURSE. So I go out with red eyes/dark under eyes, pale skin, messed up hair and overall just looking fucked up. I think they may have thought I was the one making the calls because I honestly look like I was being beat. They explicitly asked if I was okay, and if I needed any help.I laughed told them no and that I was just really sick. They said It was likely our last 3 digits making the call somehow. They called back to make sure nothing was wrong for a little while. After we changed our phone number it never happened again.
I dunno if this counts but one time my mom called the cops but it turns out we're not technically in any jurisdiction, so we just had two different police departments arguing with each other over the phone until we didn't need police to come anymore.
Fantastic system they had going. We're lucky nothing actually happened.
Wow, that is strange. What said is the only thing I can think of that would cause that...
I never had anything like that happen, but I used to live in the same area as a girl who shared my name and who also passed bad checks and I'm pretty sure was into selling hard drugs. The sheriff mistakenly came to /my/ door with a warrant, and I got a lot of weird looks the next day from people with police scanners.
